The Codex Manesse is a manuscript from ~1305, it features songs of ~140 poets, who are presented in images depicting them in certain symbolic situations. Their order is not dictated by their fame as an artist or by the number of songs, but by social rank.
The author of this song occupies the 9th spot, his name was Johann/Jan, Duke of Brabant (1252-1294, on May 3). Brabant is now in the Netherlands and Belgium. His reign is often seen as the most glorious era for Brabant, so it's no wonder he enjoyed a very good reputation during and after his life.
Jan/Johann was also Margrave of Antwerp and - after the War of Limburg Succession (1283-1289) - Duke of Limburg, and he was made Imperial Advocate of the Lower Rhine region in 1292, signifying his status as a powerful and respected ruler within the Holy Roman Empire. He was called "the Victorious".
The duke enjoyed and promoted the fine arts, but he also was a fierce warrior, killing many rivals in battle while still being hailed as an example of chivalry.
No wonder he is depicted as a mighty knight in the manuscript! However, he was gravely injured during a knightly tournament, leading to his death. He remains a beloved and celebrated figure, especially in Brabant. A beer brand is named after him as well!

Johann/Jan wrote nine songs in total, the great Codex Manesse is the only source we have. This audio here does not exactly follow the text in the manuscript: the lyrics of this audio are "reverse-engineered" into a medieval stage of what would later be seen as Dutch. I found an article from 1858 in the German academic newspaper "Germania" where August Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798-1874), a scholar and the man who wrote the German national anthem, attempts this "Dutchification" himself, citing a fellow scholar named Willems to have tried this before him in 1848. The Lorscher Bienensegen (Lorsch Bee Blessing/Charm) is a beekeeping prayer intended to call bees back to their hive.
It was written down in the 10th century, in Old High German. Old High German (dated to 750-1050) is the form of German before Middle High German, in which so many famous songs (like the Palästinalied for example) were written. It is important to note that during the time of Old High German, at least in the beginning, Christianity hadn't fully vanquished pagan beliefs yet: parts of modern-day Germany, especially the North and the East, were still not fully christianized or even completely pagan.
But the Lorscher Bienensegen is a Christian charm, not a pagan one. Although the very existence of this charm could be seen as proof of pagan beliefs somewhat influencing the now present Christianity. Bee charms probably existed long before this text already, and they didn't vanish for centuries to come, as bees and honey became relevant to human civilization early on.
There aren't many texts known today in Old High German due to poor recording: Back then, writing culture still had to settle, and most people gave on stories, tales, and charms orally only.
The charm was discovered in Lorsch, a town in the German state of Hesse with a very old and venerable monastery, and is nowadays kept in the library of the Vatican. It was written down on the bottom of a page of a book dedicated to the apocryphal story of the Apocalypse of St. Paul from the 9th century. There is a relatively similar (pagan) Anglo-Saxon Old English charm, it is called "Charm wiþ ymbe".

He was related to Hans von Manteuffel who fell 1919 at Riga and should tell the story of him and the Baltikumer, German soldiers fighting shortly after ww1 in the Baltic states.. The poem was created in 1920, just one year after Hans has fallen, but published the first time in the 30s without a melody.

In the song they are desperrate, many had fallen. They return to their fatherland and bring home their flag as their last duty. But it will be the duty of their children to bring the flag back to eastern land (Ostland).

A song from the "Lochamer-Liederbuch", a collection of German songs compiled for the influential Lochamer family of Nuremberg in around 1455.
It is one of the largest and most important song collections for German songs of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance and also features many melodies. The period in which this manuscript was created falls under that of Early Modern High German, a period in the history of German lasting from around 1350 to around 1650.
The author of this very song is unknown, that makes estimating its time of creation difficult as well. It hasn't appeared in older manuscripts, making the 15th century the most probable estimation, but the described way of travelling comes of as sort of Minnesang-esque, and the golden era of Minnesang was around 1150 to 1300. However, you might have seen that this isn't a courtly love song at all! In fact, it is highly erotic, but chooses to somewhat hide that behind metaphors.

The Lilienlied seems to have originated only around 1830 as a song from old fragments, and was first sung by students in Heidelberg, Jena and Göttingen. Probably after a drinking originated mix of older songs from Thuringia and Saxony; also in Swabia, on the Rhine and in Upper and Lower Hesse known and still much sung. Melody and large parts of the text come from the hunter song "Es blies ein Jäger wohl in sein Horn".
Blooming flowers on the graves of early deceased are mentioned at the end of many songs. According to ancient folk belief, the souls of the departed loved ones passed into flowers (lilies).

The song's origins are rooted in the historical French–German enmity, and it was particularly popular in Germany during the Franco-Prussian War and the First World War. The song has a defensive meaning against french expansionism.

Johann Sebastian Bach composed two of the best-known airs: the second movement of his Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, which August Wilhelmj arranged for violin and piano as Air on the G String; and the theme of his Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, the Air present also in Partitas BWV 825–830 harpsichord. The fifth movement of George Frideric Handel's Suite in F Major, HWV 348, part of Handel's Water Music collection, is another frequently performed air.
