Just because Hitler and the Nazis were at the helm in Germany does not mean that you cannot point out atrocities visited upon the general German populace at that time. There were no heroes during the Second World War. Churchill, Roosevelt and later Eisenhower are all culpable for the deaths of civilians in Axis countries.
Hellstorm does an excellent job of pointing out these atrocities. Sinead McCarthy's poignant narration, combined with brilliant production on a shoestring budget, touches this sensitive and politically incorrect topic in a way that will leave you tearful and thoughtful after you watch the documentary.

Such a welcome breath of fresh air to watch a different point of view on the war other than the filtered propaganda of the West and filmmakers of the USA. I found it to be fair and non-biased, just from a different perspective, the film does not allocate blame, just some food for thought and the truth from the other side. I think that people are far to quick to brush aside, any thought process and simply accept things the way that they have been presented over time. I too thought that movies like "Schindler's List" were based on the truth before doing a bit of research.
I found difficulty sourcing it on YouTube but finally was able to stream it off Ancreport, another good documentary in the same line is "The Greatest Story Never Told" and David Cole on Auschwitz both are done very well for the obvious limit in budget.

The traffickers find out about her smuggling and kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. The gang promises to release them if Tae-shik makes a delivery for them, however, it is a larger plot to eliminate a rival drug ring leader. When Hyo-jeon's disemboweled body is discovered, Tae-shik realizes that So-mi's life may also be in danger. Tae-Shik becomes enraged at the prospect that So-mi may already be dead and prepares for a battle, putting his own life at risk.

A lot of people are put off by foreign language films and I hope those people don't let that stop them from watching this.
It has all the panache of a typical Hollywood film and I have to disagree with some comments that the back-story aspect is lacking compared with the action; my exact thoughts when watching this film were along the lines of "I cannot believe how genuine the character development is". The bond between the two main characters is extremely believable (huge props to the actress who played the young kid). I thought the fact that the film wasn't edited down to the hour-and-half standard probably gave them more room to develop and for an action film, there was much more intelligence than I was expecting in the story.
One of the best films I have seen in a long time.

I haven't watched an Asian film for a while if not of my friend who talked a lot of good things about this film. I would like to acknowledge the director for directing incredible Artists who portrayed tremendous performances and touched my feelings and emotions in many different ways. The main character embellished as a young hero who can save by the speed of his fists, his skills in weapons to defend himself and remorseful countenance in his face to portray his agony, compassion to save his only beloved object- The little Girl and the children. Yet you can see this man in contrasting character, the softness side of him when he really cried and could see the real tears coming down from his eyes. The voice clarity of the movie is another standout. Unlike certain movies, I had to stop and replay the parts I did not understand. I enjoyed so much listening to how they pronounced and emphasized words according to the character portrayed. I have seen Asian movies in the past and the dubbing were the worst part. Entertainingly, the movie was beautifully crafted. I was at my seat throughout enjoying every moment. Since there were some scenes of brutal killings, I am though suggesting for adult viewers only. Enjoy the movie.

One of the most successful and older of these soldiers (Russell) is pitted against a new breed of soldiers, and after the confrontation is believed to be dead. His body is left behind on a semi-abandoned colonial planet, where everything is peaceful, and he is taught about the other aspects of life. Eventually, he has to fight the new breed of soldiers again, this time to defend his new home.
Sergeant Todd (Russell) is a veteran soldier for an elite group of the armed forces of Earth. After being defeated by a new breed of genetically engineered soldiers, he is dumped on a waste planet and left for dead. He soon interacts with a group of crash survivors who lead out a peaceful existence on the planet. The peace is soon broken as the new breed of soldiers lands to eliminate the colony, which Sergeant Todd must defend.

➤ "A good movie in two parts" by chl-68 February 2000
The first two sequences of this movie set up two conflicts: the -thematic- conflict between the soldier Todd and his suppressed humanity, and the -physical- conflict between Todd and his bio-engineered replacement. Both sequences are quite gripping in different ways.
Peoples' screenplay falters somewhat by resolving the first of these arcs halfway through the movie, which means the second half is little more than a straightforward action romp.
Nonetheless, kudos to the makers for creating a genre action piece with heart and even a bit of soul, and especially to Kurt Russell who conveys much with very little.
Not a great film, but one worth seeing.

I'm not going to try to make this out to be something it isn't. This is not a great movie. The special effects are mostly crap, and some are hilariously bad. Kurt Russell says 104 words in the whole movie, or almost $200,000 per word for his 20 million dollar payday for this train wreck. And it doesn't matter. I've probably seen it over a dozen times, and I love it. It's entertaining and has enough action and violence to make it worth your time. Shut your brain off and ignore the naysayers, this is worthy. Kurt is completely jacked and looks the part. And even though he says next to nothing during the whole thing, his brief halftime speech before he goes and kills everyone gives me a chill, every time. As I said, it's not a great movie though. It is, however, a really good time.

But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye, and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict in which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

"A great American tragedy" by keihanJul 11, 2000 and we'd better.
I have not read Cooper's original novel, I will freely admit, nor do I ever really see myself working up the interest to actually do so. But I love this version of "Last of the Mohicans". It was the first movie I ever saw in the widescreen format of video tapes and, after watching it again after about three years of not seeing it, everything I loved about it then still holds true.
The film is no more anti-British than it is anti-Indian. Everybody gets a more or less fair shake. Granted, Day-Lewis and his adopted family (as well as the Munro sisters) get have more to like about them than some of the others, but even the "bad guys" are understandable. Think about it: Maghoa is, without a doubt, a bloodthirsty, hate-driven b*****d, yet considering all he's lost in his life thanks to the Yanquis (particularly Colonel Munro), can you blame him for wanting to take his revenge? I can't. Colonel Munro is a loving father who cares very deeply about his daughters and a commander who cares about his men. Still, the atrocities he's committed in the name of the Crown against Maghoa are disconcerting, to say the least. Horrible though his death is, can one truly say whether or not it is unjustified? I can't. Major Duncan Heyward is an arrogant snob of an English officer, looking down his nose at colonials and Indians alike. But he is no fop in combat, as his reaction to the George Road ambush proved, and, as he proved with his death, under that arrogant exterior is a very brave man. Can anyone say that he truly deserved his fate? I can't.
The thing, to me, that makes this a great film is that, when all's said and done, nobody wins. NOBODY. Of all the eight major characters (Hawkeye, Chingachook, Uncas, Cora Munro, Alice Munro, Colonel Munro, Maghoa, Maj. Heyward), half of them are dead by film's end and everyone has lost at one person they very deeply care about. There's no overarcing evil responsible for these horrors, just human nature, culture clashs, and the insanity that is war. As America today is still very much a country of clashing cultures fighting for supremacy, therein lies the great tragedy of "Last of The Mohicans". 243 years later, we still haven't learned a thing...and we'd better.

A Viking boy is left behind after his clan battles a Native American tribe. Raised within the tribe, he ultimately becomes their savior in a fight against the Norsemen.
Much of the story is taken from the Norwegian film Veiviseren from 1987 by Nils Gaup. Nils Gaup was inspired by Sami legends in which Russian-Tjuder or Karelian-Tjuder are overcome by a Sami Pathfinder. There are many indications that the background for the legends is Karelian robbery against the Sami in the 12th and 13th centuries.

Pathfinder was not nearly as bad as many people are making it out to be. True, the editing was mediocre at best, with the seasons clearly out of whack. There were some pretty odd incongruencies with language as well. The filmmakers relied on some trite Native American imagery and stereotypes...
But Pathfinder was obviously never about the plot or silly Viking outfits. Ultimately I think the filmmakers wanted to impress upon the viewers the starkness of the landscape of "uncivilized" North America, and how the people who lived there survived. One of the best lines in the movie is delivered when Ghost tells his lady friend that the Vikings know eternal winter, but "don't know our spring." I think the movie, in its own kind of botched way, did a good job conveying the awe, reverence, and fear that the people who lived in N.A. had for the seasons and the natural environment.

I don't know why so many people are saying this movie sucks because it is not historically accurate. Hey, it is just a movie. Can't you sit back and enjoy the movie and stop you complaining about all the history inaccurate thing?
Anyway, Pathfinder is about a boy who was left behind by his clan because he somehow doesn't fit in the clan. Later, he was found by a girl who took him into her clan. They took him in and called him Ghost. Years pass and he is raised by the clan. Everything seemed so well until one day, Ghost's old clan came back. They came, they killed and Ghost wants revenge. Then they fight and fight and fight.
What I like most about this movie is the costume. After watching the movie, I want a toy company to create the Vikings. The armor is nice. I like the way they shot the movie. Pretty cool. The script is somehow - OK. It is good but not that good.
A cool movie. Worth watching if you are into swords and armor movies. Fans of Apocalypto and Conan will enjoy this. And stop listening to all this history-inaccurate crap.
