A Canadian transgender woman is suing a beauty pageant company for refusing to allow her to compete in its contest, according to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedom, which represents the business.

Jessica Yaniv, a transgender LQBTQ rights activist, filed a human rights complaint against Toronto’s Canada Galaxy Pageants alleging it is in violation of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the conservative legal policy organization announced Monday.

HILLSDALE, MI -- During a speech for Hillsdale College Wednesday night, Attorney General William Barr compared lockdowns being enforced due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to slavery, according to the Associated Press.

“Other than slavery, which was a different kind of restraint, this is the greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history,” Barr said.

Barr was been critical of lockdown orders across the U.S. as the country continues to adapt to reopening various sectors of society. Barr has previously compared the orders to a form of house arrest.

ST. LOUIS – A man was shot dead in north St. Louis. The victim, identified as retired 77-year-old St. Louis City Police captain David Dorn, was killed while trying to protect the well known Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry at around 2:30am.

Police say he suffered a gunshot wound to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several people in the area state that looters were casing the area and breaking into businesses taking everything they could grab.

A bystander stated that the man was only trying to stop several people from stealing electronics from the building when he was shot.

Many gathered around the man encouraging him to fight for his life as he laid in front of the store waiting for help.
