PlayerUp is a free online platform for players of massive multiplayer online (MMO) games to buy, sell, and trade digital accounts. The site is a neutral marketplace that supports player-to-player trading for over 100 games. Additionally, PlayerUp has an optional Middleman Service with add on Legal Services and Insurance which protect buyers against account recalls and other scenarios in which they lose access to the account after the transaction.
PlayerUp doesn't directly aggregate or sell game assets. Rather, PlayerUp allows third-party sellers to list accounts for sale. Sellers can then choose to conduct the transaction directly through the Buyer without any fees or include PlayerUp as a third party to secure the payment and assets in an escrow until delivery has been verified by the buyer, at which point the buyer's funds are released to the seller. Using this system, which PlayerUp refers to as "Middleman," neither buyer nor seller shares personal information, and transactions are guaranteed. PlayerUp reduces the potential risk of fraud by collecting, holding and disbursing funds.
PlayerUp has over 40 years combined experience in the legal field and currently has partnerships with over 30 law firms in over 30 countries. PlayerUp uses these legal knowledge to protect buyers against account recalls or other scenarios in which they lose access to the account after the transaction. Using this system, which PlayerUp refers to as "Legal Services", PlayerUp will legally bind a contract with both the buyer and seller. If in event the buyer believes a breach has happened in his agreement with the seller, he can then open a dispute on PlayerUp. Once a dispute has been registered, PlayerUp will contact the seller to resolve this dispute. If the seller doesn't win or can't resolve the dispute, PlayerUp can then enforce the sellers agreement if the buyer purchased an optional Legal Service or Insurance with his Middleman Order. If the buyer didn't purchase any such packages, the seller will be removed from the site and his public fraud report will be left available for people to openly see until he decides to resolve the conflict.
