We will bounce around some thoughts to see how the Christian worldview stacks up against other "schools" of thought.

How much does a thought weigh? What is "thinking"? Why are we to "think"? How are we to think? Does the Bible have anything to say about it? What about logic? We will go over a broad view on "thinking" and then also discuss some basic logical 'rules' along with quite a few logical fallacies, in order to better serve us as we navigate both Scriptural and secular propositions.

The flight to the mountains (v. 5) is echoed in Jesus's Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24:16). The imagery of the unique day (vv. 6-7) is meant to telegraph the idea that God's unique relationship with ethnic Israel was over. Jesus draws on Zechariah's theme of living waters flowing out of Jerusalem (v. 8) and applies it to believers who comprise the New Jerusalem (John 7:37-38). Verses 9-11 underscore the importance of making the Lord the central focus of our lives as we live out our purpose in this world.

Zechariah uses the imagery of a splitting mountain to paint a picture of the severing effect that Jesus's words would have on all those who heard. The northward and southward movement of the splitting mountain draws on the historical significance of these directional points in the mind of an ancient Israelite—the difference between covenant loyalty and spiritual apostacy.
