In the 30-day study of IMUSIL on the cyclophosphamide induced immunosuppression model, results showed a decrease in cancer mediated inflammation and a reduction of adverse effects arising from traditional chemotherapy.
IMUSIL shielded the immune organs and triggered the cell-mediated and humoral immune responses, thereby reducing cancer mediated inflammation. There was a marked increase in antioxidant activity along with a reduction in oxidative stress damage, protecting the liver from drug toxicity and ultimately reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy.

The talk will focus on a recently concluded extensive research on Honey and its anti-cancer properties. Results showed the rate of experimentally-induced breast cancer progression is reduced in animals in the honey-treated groups compared to the positive control group. The number of tumors developed was reduced and the size was found to be smaller than those not given honey. The histological grading was also better.

The mechanism by which honey exerts cancer-preventive and cancer-therapeutic effects is multifold:

- via improvement of immunological, hematological, serological response and

- by activation of the apoptotic mechanism pathway

The pro-apoptotic proteins are up-regulated and the anti-apoptotic proteins are down regulated. Results show that honey has the characteristics of a vaccine against cancer with great potential to be used as a preventive and therapeutic anti-cancer agent.

The Benefits of Hyperthermia Therapy
There are four main clinically proven benefits of Hyperthermia Therapy as an adjunct:
1st It ACTIVITATES IMMUNE CELLS when the temperature reaches between 38°C to 43°C.
2nd It directly causes NECROSIS OF THE CANCER CELLS at 42°C.
3rd It ENHANCES THE DRUG DELIVERY INTO TUMOURS, working as a Chemosensitizer.
4th It INCREASES TISSUE OXYGENATION working as a Radiosensitizer.
According to the three-year Clinical Study done on 60 Cancer Patients at UMMC by the lead investigator, Prof. Dr. Ho Gwo Fuang, there was significant improvement in the cancer patient’s immune system. Pain score in the patient had improved and the sensitivity towards radiation and chemotherapy was increased. It was found that palliative patients who had relied on Hyperthermia Therapy alone, also responded positively to the treatment.

Through the talk Manoj will explain how yoga can help patients regain control over their body, breath and thoughts , leading one to to a sense of peace and cheer, a balance of optimism and acceptance . He will take you through a short breathing and meditation session which can guide your brain waves towards alpha/theta levels; ideal states where brain and inner mind is receptive and responsive to healing suggestions and visualisations. Through assessing such tools of yoga, patients can create a more supportive inner environment, which can enhance the effectiveness of conventional treatment modalities as well.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) complements conventional cancer treatments (CCT) and supports cancer patients. While not a standalone cancer treatment, TCM plays a significant role in improving patients' well-being and addressing symptoms and side effects. Herbal therapy, acupuncture, and moxibustion can alleviate symptoms such as pain, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. TCM also minimizes side effects caused by CCT, enhancing overall quality of life for patients. Integrating TCM with standard cancer care offers an individualized approach, focusing on the patient's unique needs. It is essential to consult with qualified TCM practitioners before incorporating TCM therapies into the cancer care.

Dr Subhash P. M. (India)
Cancer is a generic term for a large group of diseases that can affect any part of the body. Malignant tumours and neoplasms are synonymous with cancer. It involves the rapid creation of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries, and which can then invade adjoining parts of the body and spread to other organs known as metastasis. According to the Global Cancer Observatory, a subsidiary of World Health Organization, cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 19 million new cases and 10 million deaths in 2020 .If we see the statistics on a continent basis, Asian countries scores top in incidence (49.3%) ,mortality rate (58.3%) and 5 year prevalence rate(40.8%).As many of the diseases are having both psychological as well as physiological factors in etiopathogenesis in current scenario, oncogenesis is also said to have the same. This paper explores the tiological, symptomatological and therapeutic persepectives of mental health in cancer care.
Arbuda (tumour) is the terminology used in classical textbooks such as Charaka samhita,Sushruta samhita,Ashtanga hrudaya,Madhava nidana,Sharngadhara samhita and Bhavaprakasha to describe Cancer in terms of its etiology, symptoms and treatments. Charaka describes each disease in terms of Trisutra viz. Hetu (Etiological factors), Linga (Signs and symptoms) and Oushadha (Intervention) while describing each disease. The sthaana (location) of mind and its implications mentioned by various acharyas; the relation between mind and body as described by Vagbhata; the general and specific causes for mental as well as physical health comprises the Hetu skandha or etiopathogenesis of Arbuda. The psychological as well as physiological manifestations of Arbuda comprise the Linga skandha. The yuktivyapashraya (Proper diet and medicines) as well as satvavachaya (Counselling for better mental control) has been mentioned in the Oushadha skandha for the management of Arbuda.
So abiding by the Ayurveda way for Swasthavritta (preventive care) as well as Atura vritta(Curative care) through proper Ahara (food), Vihara (Daily as well as seasonal regimens), Achara(Proper social code of conduct) and Oushadha (Medication and counseling), we can keep the sprouts of new onset neoplasms away and slow down the progression of already manifested ones.
