“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

This often quoted Bible verse is explained in great detail in this enlightening expository message. Pastor Kemble first goes to the Hebrew text of this passage, and then for greater clarity goes to the Greek of the Septuagint (LXX) to bring to the congregation a wonderful revelation.

Blessed IS the nation whose God is the Lord! Blessed ARE the people whom God has chosen for His own inheritance! No action is required of the nation whom God has chosen. They ARE blessed because they are the people whom God has chosen for His own inheritance. They have been chosen above all other people to be God’s special treasure.

Who are these blessed people? Pastor Kemble reveals through Scripture, history and language that they are Jacob-Israel. They are the apple of His eye.

“For the Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.” Deuteronomy 32:9-10

How blessed we are! And that not of ourselves — we have not earned this blessing through glorious deed or our own virtue — it is the choice of God, lest any man should boast. We have been chosen to fulfil His purpose, to tend His vineyard and to care for His creation — to do the work of God and be a blessing to all the peoples of the earth.

Let us, therefore, determine that we will henceforth live for the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind! And let us evermore be humble, and grateful to God for this wonderful blessing.

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.” Joel 2:1-3

The Day of Atonement is all about repentance and judgment. Judgment is coming. Let us ask the God of Heaven to show us if there be anything in us that would tend to defile, if there be anything that should not be in our heart, and let us cast it off. Let us seek the Lord while he may be found. It is time to get right with God.

A great shaking is occurring, and shall continue and most likely intensify. This shaking is from the Lord. All that can shake will shake to prove the fact from the fake.

The signs of the time of Christ’s return, found in Matthew 24 and Luke 17, are all present with us. The Return is nigh. Get ready people of God, prepare to see the Lord God Almighty! Jesus is coming soon! And His reward is with Him! Are you ready?

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

In the second chapter of Numbers we read how the camp of the Israelites was laid out as they wandered in the wilderness forty years, following the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night.

They were organized by tribe throughout their wanderings. Each tribe had its own banner and ensign, as well as the various families within the tribes, and the four major standards divided the nation into quarters. It is where the ancient art of heraldry, which still with us today, had its origin.

The camp of Judah was on the East, the camp of Reuben was on the South, the camp of Ephraim was on the West and the camp of Dan was on the North. But the Tabernacle was in the middle of the camp.

The Tabernacle was where the presence of God dwelt. That presence was made manifest in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Ever present with them was the assurance of God’s divine presence, and that presence was in the center of the camp. The entire nation of Israel revolved around God. He was the center of their life, both nationally and personally.

And that is how it should be with God's people still today. Our lives, both personally and nationally, ought to revolve around the Lord Jesus Christ.

Is Jesus the center of your life? Does your world revolve around Him?

The Word of God is transformational. It turns darkness to light and can turn death into life. In fact, of all the things that the heart of man can desire, there is nothing more dear, more precious or more to be desired than the Word of God. It is the very essence of God. And remember, everything that the Word of God is, Jesus Christ is — because our Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God.

Love the Word of God. Meditate on the Word of God. Memorize the Word of God. Build your life upon the Word of God. Seek after it as the deer panteth after the waterbrooks. Stray not from it to the right hand or to the left. Hide its words in your heart always, and hold it in the absolute highest regard, that you might not sin against God. For if you will so do, it will be to you and to your children, and even to your children’s children, the surest source of happiness and blessing conceivable, for it has always been and ever shall be

“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” Nahum 1:7

From time to time we all have those times when life situations are stressful. Let us never forget that the Lord is good, and that He is in control. We just need to trust Him. In the good times, in the bad times, on the mountaintops and in the dark valleys, in all situations, our only job is to trust Him and praise Him.

Psalms 34:1-8, Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 8:28

The Lord is good. Trust Him.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12

There are ideas and philosophies out there that sound mighty good to a lot of people, and some of these philosophies can even sound quite religious in nature . . . but they are not found anywhere in the Bible. Not only that, they deceive, and they contradict the Word of God.

We need to have our lives founded upon the Word of God, not some popular notion. The Word of God is our firm foundation. All else is sinking sand.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11

If the Word of God is not our foundation, we will not have a solid foundation, and we could suffer great loss. We want the Word of God to be our foundation, not some popular saying that sounds good, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Pastor Kemble brings a list of popular deceptions and demonstrates how they contradict the Word of God. This list is by no means a complete list, and there may be more to come, depending on public interest.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.” Psalms 61:1-4

There are times when all of us can feel quite overwhelmed. It doesn’t matter who you are, we have all been overwhelmed at one time or another. When those overwhelming times come, it is important to remember what God has said.

1. God has a plan — Jeremiah 29:11
2. God can calm any storm — Mark 4:35-41
3. Trust God — Proverbs 3:5-6
4. God is with you — Deuteronomy 31:6

All others may fail you, but God will not. So . . . when you are overwhelmed, don’t fret. Go to the source of all power and all blessing and ask Him to bid your storm to cease. Then just watch what happens.

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord . . .” Psalm 92:1

With all that is going on in the world, there is still so much for us to be thankful for. Let us not focus on the storm. Let us, with grateful hearts, give thanks to God for all the manifold blessings He has bestowed upon us. This will bring honour to God and will fill our hearts with peace.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalms 23:6

In this world that we live in today, it is so reassuring to think that God is there, that He loves His people, that He is our Good Shepherd and that He will take good care of us. The enemy is moving in on every area of our lives, but God is with us. He is ours and we are His, and that is not going to change.

Come what may, He will be with us all the days of our lives, and when this life is over and we are on the other side, we will dwell in the House of the Lord forever!

Such joy had King David when he considered the bright and happy future that awaits!

This video comes with a warning: You may get so happy you will get the urge to shout and run around the room! If this occurs, please be careful.

This should be the song of every true and loyal follower of Christ. It is not we nor our desires that are important, but He and His holy Kingdom. He is Father, we are His adoring children. He is our Bridegroom and we are His loving and dutiful wife. He is Teacher and we are His attentive disciples. He is Lord and we are His devoted servants. He is King and we are His grateful subjects. Everything revolves around Him, not us. He is all in all, and without Him, we are nothing. All praise, honour, power, glory and dominion be unto our Lord Jesus Christ!

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121

In these dark and evil days, our hearts long for assurance that the Almighty is there, standing with the faithful in the fiery furnace, and that He will take our part and give comfort, peace and aid.

The Word of God is a light in the darkness, and when we turn to His Word in times of trial and tribulation, we are never disappointed, but are made glad, and our strength is renewed.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2

We had God as our King and Samuel as His prophet. Who could ask for anything more? But we wanted a man to be our king like all the other nations of the world, so we rejected God.

“And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.” 1 Samuel 8:7

Not much has changed. Instead of looking to God for our help, we look to men to save us. Good and strong men perhaps, but nevertheless men. How is that working for us?

In this dark and evil day, it is high time that the people of God look above, unto our Lord Jesus Christ for help. He is the only one who can truly and mightily save us.

Look unto Jesus, dear people of God, and be ye saved!

The day described here is indeed coming. What manner of persons, therefore, ought we to be as we see this day approaching?

Be ye MINDFUL ALWAYS OF HIS COVENANT — ורכז , zakar — remember, make mention, recount
1 Chronicles 16:11-17

God made a covenant with Abraham which extended to Isaac and Jacob and their descendants. He gave unto them the land of Canaan. He led them, He protected them and made many great and wonderful promises to them!

They were told never to forget that covenant. They were to be mindful of it, make mention of it often and recount it to their children and children’s children, to the end that they would never forget, because if they were ever to forget that covenant, or if they were ever to forget that they were the people of God, it would be a stumbling block to them.

But they forgot — we forgot — and it has been a stumbling block to us. But it is easy to find the people of the covenant. All you have to do is follow the migrations of the Israelites from the time of the Assyrian captivity forward, and you will find them.

Herodotus writes of their migration in the twelfth chapter of his fourth book, and he refers to the Israelites as Scythians and Cimmerians, and shows them going beyond the Araxes River, through the narrow passages northward to a distant land that previously had not been inhabited, to the as yet unexplored rivers and river valleys of Europe. This is confirmed in 2 Esdras 13:40-45

The nations of Christendom in the world today are that people, but we have forgotten who we are, and the covenant that God has made with us.

We need strength for the days ahead. We are exhorted to be strong and of a good courage. Toward that end let us all be ever mindful of His covenant, and of His love for us.

Be ye SEPARATE — ἀϕορίζω , aphorizo — to divide off, to limit, to exclude, much like holiness
2 Corinthians 6:14-18, Ezra 10:10-14, 2 Corinthians 7:1, Psalms 1:1-3

Be ye ANGRY and SIN NOT — ὀργίζω , orgidzo — angry, wroth

Be ye all of ONE MIND — ὀμόϕρων , homophron — like-minded, harmonious

“In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts...” Zechariah 14:20-21

It is recorded in the Old Testament that the holy crown of pure gold, that was worn by the high priest as he performed his duties before the Lord, had the inscription “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” upon it. It was the only article ordained by God to bear that inscription.

But in the glorious Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, even those things that are now considered common and ordinary — from the trappings of the horses’ gear to the common pot in the kitchen — shall bear the same inscription as the high priest’s crown. Holiness will extend even to the most minute concerns of domestic life. All things shall be consecrated to Jehovah God. Oh, glorious day!

But imagine the revival that would rise up in the people of God if we were to set our hearts and minds even now to give everything in our lives over to God for the purpose of giving Him glory! What would it mean to our life and our walk with God if we were to separate everything in our life — our home, our family, our phone, tablet or other mobile device, the television remote, our checkbook, bank account, gold or silver, that appointment book, our business — absolutely everything in our life — unto the Lord God Almighty for the sole purpose of giving Him glory and honour?

Can we do it? Can you? Will you?

Let us all determine this very day that, as regards our lives and our homes, we will not wait for that bright and glorious day to set things in order, but will even now begin to separate ourselves and everything that is ours to Almighty God, so that in everything that we think, everything that we say and everything that we do, we shall be — HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD!

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Acts 22:16

Capac Bible Church presents an important message on the biblical ordinance of Baptism.

Pastor Kemble unfolds the who, what, when, why, where and how of biblical baptism straight from the Word of God. An excellent message to refer to and share with others concerning baptism.

Capac Bible Church presents Pastor Kemble with an encouraging message of hope and assurance for the coming days.

These are indeed dark and troubling times, and it may get even worse for the Christian. Peter encourages us to be sober and to be vigilant, because our adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

Peter was speaking from experience. Jesus had told him “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat,” Luke 22:31

Peter indeed felt the pain of that sifting. But Oh! the comforting words of Jesus that immediately followed! “But I have prayed for thee . . .” Luke 22:32

We may have fiery trials, but whenever we do, be assured that our Lord is with us in the fire, and He will uphold those who trust in Him.

Job went through a living hell, but through it all he trusted in God, and God not only sustained him, He blessed him greatly in the end.

May this message encourage and inspire!

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

In this message, we learn what the Bible says about pride. Pride is never spoken of in a good light in the Bible. In fact, it is described as something that brings low, and that brings both shame and destruction. The Word of God confirms this many times throughout the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs 8:13, 11:2, 13:10, 16:2, 4-6, 18-19, 29:23

It is clear from these Scriptures that pride is nothing to be proud of. In fact, pride brings people low. It brings shame, contention and destruction. Psalms 10:1-7, Obadiah 1:3-4

Pride is given in the Holy Scriptures as the sin of Lucifer. Isaiah 14:12-15

God hates pride. Proverbs 6:17, 16:2, 4-6

The Christian should want nothing to do with pride. If we should boast about anything, let us boast in be the grace and mercy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:31, Jeremiah 9:23-24

Pride brings men to their lowest depths. Pride weakens and brings both shame and destruction. It brings division and strife. It brings desolation. Pride is to be shunned. God resisteth the proud, meaning God sets Himself in battle array against the prideful. 1 Peter 5:5-7, James 4:6-10

Seeing that God resisteth the proud, should we not all be diligent to avoid this deadly sin?

Pride goeth before destruction. It brings low and brings both shame and desolation. Let the wicked forsake his way and turn to God, and He will abundantly pardon.

Amen! God deliver your people from the sin of pride.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1

Is your heart troubled? Are you weary and burdened? Are you at a place where you just don’t know what to do?

In our lives sorrow and pain will visit us occasionally. It is inevitable. In fact, they will never leave us completely until that bright and happy morning when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ makes all things new.

When trouble upsets us and things seem so hard, the tendency of some would be to get angry with God and blame Him for their unhappiness. After all, He is sovereign. He said “All power is given to me in heaven and on earth.” So where is He? Why doesn’t He do something?

This message was delivered on Palm Sunday, the day in history when Jesus entered Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. The crowd was ecstatic, and they wanted to make Him King right then and there. They were at a very low place in our history as a people and they were under an oppressive government, as we are today. They shouted Hosanna!

“On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” John 12:12-13

Adam Clarke comments on this word Hosanna, “When persons applied to the king for help, or for a redress of grievances, they used the word hosanna, or rather from the Hebrew HOSHIAH NA! Save now! or, Save, we beseech thee! — redress our grievances, and give us help from oppression! Thus both the words and actions of the people prove that they acknowledged Christ as their king, and looked to him for deliverance. How easily might he have assumed the sovereignty at this time, had he been so disposed!”

How it must have taken the wind out of their sails when, within just one week’s time, He would be crucified! For all they knew, they would be next! Especially after making such a fuss over Him as He rode into town, laying their coats on the ground for His ride to walk upon, praising Him and waving palm branches! “Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord!”

They didn’t realize that it had to be so — that through that this darkest of all days, He would bring everlasting light! — that through His willing sacrifice and His death on the cross, we would have everlasting life!

Dear Christian, in the hard times and in all things . . . trust Him!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

“Be still, and know that I am God . . .” Psalms 46:10

“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.” Psalms 89:1

One of the defining characteristics of God is that He is faithful! He will always keep His Word. He can be trusted.

In Psalm chapter 89 God made some wonderful promises to King David.

“I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.” Psalms 89:3-4

Just think of that! God made a covenant with David that his seed would be established forever, and that his throne would endure throughout all generations! He continues, and states emphatically . . .

“My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments; if they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me. It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.” Psalms 89:28-37

We know that God always keeps His Word, so where is that Throne today?

Does God keep His Word? Yes He does! And the coronation of the King is one of the surest testaments to His faithfulness that we can think of!

Watch the video to find out just how God has kept the promises that He made to David.

There have been many messages preached about the prodigal son, but very few messages preached about the elder brother. However, there is much to learn from a study of the elder brother.

The story at hand is recorded in Luke chapter 15, and we hope you will join us as we explore that which may be gleaned from a closer look at the elder brother.

“Lo, I AM with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” The Gospel of Matthew ends with these comforting words from the lips of Jesus Christ our Saviour, and oh what peace this affords! If we could just get ahold of this and never forget it, how much happier we would be!

When He said these words, He was the resurrected Christ. And He had also just said that all power in Heaven and on earth had been given unto Him. Think of that! The One who possesses all power in Heaven and all power on earth is WITH US!

If that don’t light your fire, your wood is wet!

Give me that Old Time Religion! We begin each service with a Scripture reading from the King James Bible. We sing the old hymns you grew up with. We spend time in prayer each service. We have piano and pipe organ and we use them. We have special music each service with an occasional bluegrass gospel selection. We have responsive readings from the Bible.

We have good old fashioned preaching. We are a friendly church and we have good fellowship with one another following each worship service.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

We stand on the Word of Almighty God. The Holy Bible is our guide book to live by. We use the Authorized King James Bible. No modern translations or modern religion around here. We do things the old way because it is the best way.

“Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16

If ever there was a time when we needed to get back to the old way and find rest for our souls it is today! If this is what you have been looking for, then you have found it.
