The State of Michigan’s Supreme Court has basically ruled that the 4th Amendment does not apply to state or local governments when it comes to zoning and code enforcement while using the concept of it somehow being a civil matter to do so. This ruling is the result of a local township flying a drone over the owners’ property because it couldn’t get a warrant to search it for supposed code violations too. Go figure.
