This musical composition is dedicated to my mentor:
Leonardo Da Vinci.

Leonardo was the impetus for my education as a boy, and for world travels as a man. His notebooks and writings are etched permanently into my memory. Da Vinci, more than any other, taught me how to freely express the full potential of my musical talents - for the benefit of history.

It has been my joy, to create this beautiful work of music, in appreciation of Leonardo's beautiful work of art: The "Mona Lisa."

Along with my orchestral composition, is an enhanced, colorized, new version of the original painting, created by The Aspen Institute, utilizing the most advanced technological tools, to bring the work as close to the original color that was painted by the Master.

May you re-experience: "Now for the first time," this marvelous work of Master painter: Leonardo Da Vinci, and may my music inspire and stir your souls, to awaken something new, and forever lovely - in your hearts.

It is my joy to release this special recording of the motion picture theme: "Russia House," by composer: Jerry Goldsmith. This is my heartfelt present to Jerry, on his birthday, which would be today, February 10th. We met and spoke many years ago. May the listeners enjoy this music, as much as I did, in performing it.

I have spend many solitary hours, listening to every score Jerry ever wrote. As a composer and artist myself, I felt each and every note, hitting its intended target in my heart, filling me with a love for life, and, a love for this monumental, talent of a man.

Along with Jerry, I wanted to express my deep appreciation to an amazing man, whose contributions in the field of motion picture soundtracks, is prolific and unmatched: Robert Townson. Robert, I have no words to describe to you, how much your marvelous soundtracks have inspired me, throughout the years. Thank you.
You are a class act, my friend.

Finally, to dearest Jerry.
You are the greatest composer known to me.

It seems appropriate on Thanksgiving, to give special thanks to a composer that changed my approach to music, more than any other: Jerry Goldsmith.
The one time that I spoke with Jerry, back stage, was a moment I'll never forget.
I loved his music dearly, and spent countless hours, going over scores and orchestrations. He taught me, not to only compose, but, to conceptualize in music.

Thank you Jerry, Here's to you.
You will always be: "Forever in my Heart"

This is my first release, created in a series of original music compositions for great paintings, which I admire. I've entitle the series, "Notes on Expressionism." It showcases paintings, which inspire me to compose visually, and create short, enchanting video stories for them. I wanted to give the viewer a sonic interpretation of the Artist's vision, as a way to transport them into the magnificent work. It is my hope that after one listens to my musical interpretation, combined with the additional videos, they may feel a deeper connection to the wonderful paintings, which will enrich their human sensory experience.

During my musical career, I have had the opportunity to work with many artists; singers and musicians. Certain people were naturally talented, beyond imagination. One of those rare talents, was Keyboardist: Cornel Thigpen. His magnificent abilities on Piano and Organ, were featured on tour with many stars including Chaka Khan.

I was lucky enough to work with him on many recording projects. We also did concerts and performances. I fondly remember when he first heard me play the EVI (Electric Valve Instrument) on a concert. We just finished playing, "Everything Must Change." He walked over to me, afterward on stage, and in his very low pitched voice said, "Man, you played a whole lotta meaness with that thang…"

Some are not aware, however, that Cornel was also a wonderful singer.
One CD, Turn that down." I produced with him. I had played brass and saxophone on the album, and mixed and mastered it. I've taken one track and remastered it to today's standards, to give listeners a perspective of the brilliance of this remarkable man, who passed away a few years ago, much too young.

I will always miss you my brother. Darryl

This is my tribute to the legendary actor: William Shatner.
His brilliant career of many roles is without question; outstanding.
It is however, his portrayal of the iconic, "Captain Kirk," that he will be most remembered by.

At ninety years young, he is about to blast off, literally into space on October 12th, 2021.

I am honored to perform this musical dedication to him.
May he soar to the heavens and return safely. Good luck, Captain.

This musical composition is my tribute to actor Al Pacino, whose work in film, fundamentally changed my approach to music. There is something sad, yet brutally honest in his character, which resonates deeply within me, as a man. I can't put into words; this hidden power, which I feel. Therefore, I have expressed those words in this musical composition: "Pathos de Pacino."

Here's to you, Al.
You don't know me… and yet you do.
Your soul burned these notes into my heart.
