A little frustrated at times with the game to get this far but forgive a little crankiness in the video, it was a hard slog.

Recent update to 2.5.1.11 The last few updates have included a few changes I have not been able to make a video about so they all are included here.
One of the major changes has been a rebalancing of the Advanced Cannons, reducing the damage a bit and rate of fire and making everything a little more even and less emphasis on a single good deign IMHO.
Steam finally gets some more attention with a new steam drill and thrusters which makes for some interesting steam-powered ships.
Shields were also reworked recently and I have mixed view on it at the moment but maybe I am missing something about their implementation.

Building a big CRAM gun for the latest battleship and showing what I see as some of the key points about CRAM

builds.
Looking for a ship to perform some shore bombardment and thought that the USS Arizona would be an ideal

candidate for a US Navy design to bring big guns and lots of AA.
Using a fictitious design that the Arizona may have been updated to if it had survived Pearl Harbour. The sister

ship USS Pennsylvania was upgraded with a lot of AA and a radar set in 1942 so Arizona could have had the same if it hadn't tried to impersonate the Hood.

Will need some cruisers to escort it, was thinking of USS Omaha but possibly USS Cleveland or USS Baltimore.
Which USN cruisers of the period do you think would be a good escort ship?

It's time for the battleships of the HEavy Battle Squadron to see what they can do against the White Flayers.

Working through the southern flank of the enemy to cut it off from support from the Lightning Hoods and take over a small resource zone.

The slow ships do have some issues avoiding the suicide ships and close range rams of the WF forces and Dels Imperial Navy has put out design requests to adapt our current fleet to be more suitable in these situations.
Will be interesting to see what the design bureaus come up with.

Recent update to 2.4.9.2 has added some new simple weapons to make the new player experience easier in getting some good looking guns on the ships. Also will help the realism groups get some nice looking ships.
Additionally an often requested item is the addition of tracks to the game. Currently just visual and gives no actual advantage but nice to see them in play.

With a newly built and shiny Battle Cruiser as flagship for the Cruiser Squadron they make their way to the north to come into the WF base area and lock it down.
The WF Allies also decide to attack and the Defense Platforms defend themselves against the Lightning Hoods.

With so many changes it was interesting to see how the battles would turn out. A few annoyances on ship pathing near land and awkward pre-battle ordering but overall happy with the performance improvements and was able to launch large battle fleets with some slow down but few stutters.

Since the last patch, the missile interceptors seem to be having issues intercepting missiles effectively.
Only direct head-on intercepts seem to work but vertical launch or side intercepts seem to have limited effect. Some of it is the turn rate of the missiles but since it did work previously it could be the damage range of the missile is not being applied correctly.
I haven't tested CIWS systems yet but this is a video to show that interceptors need a little look to keep them viable in game.

An example of some of the Surface ship missile systems I am using against the White Flayers and differences between some of the targeting modules.
There is no perfect missile in my view so it depends on your personal preferences a lot but the result is what matters.
For myself I try not to have too much missile spam and prefer missiles with high hit rates and the damage is dependent on target faction and air or surface. Surface I like hard-hitting missiles and Air just enough to destabilise the enemy so follow up shots will hit or drop into the water so surface missiles will kill it.
