Tips & Tricks:
Use 'tail' to monitor logs real-time for bug reporting or system analysis. This will provide you updates that occur and could be invaluable for bug reports or monitoring of user activity or changes on your system.

As an example:

For openSUSE, Rhel you can use:
sudo tail -f -n 6 /var/log/messages

For Debian based distros
sudo tail -f -n 6 /var/log/syslog

The 'f' switch tells it to follow
The 'n' switch tells it to display last N'th number of lines

Tips & Tricks:
Use ‘lmsensors’ to get information related to temps or voltage on your system. This utilizes the health monitoring chips available on hardware and can be a great tool for checking on the temps of your GPU or CPU for instance during stress tests or diagnosing issues on your machine.
After install type ‘sudo sensors-detect’ to find out which sensors are available or that you want read.
Once that is complete simply type ‘sensors’ into your terminal and get a readout of voltage, temps, and fan speeds depending on the sensors your hardware has enabled.

This week in Ryan's courses they were going over vi/vim: "I have to be honest, I was dreading it a little bit. But, after going through the course I felt a lot more comfortable using vi/vim and the keyboard shortcuts made a little more sense. However, there was some additional homework they suggested which is executed by typing ‘vimtutor’ in your terminal. This is a 20-30 minute tutorial that is hands on using the commands you can run through on your own if you’re wanting to get more comfortable with vi/vim."
