The average cost of gynecomastia in Delhi is roughly somewhere between 40,000 to 1 lakh and there are various factors which determines the cost of gynecomastia surgery. Hi I am Dr. Indraneeja and today I am continuing my discussion on gynecomastia.
The main factor which comes to a patient's mind before choosing the surgery or opting for the surgical option is how much money he has to pay from his pocket and this is an important topic that needs to be addressed. So, various factors which determine the knowing the exact expenditure that will be required for a Gynecomastia surgery start from the grade of the disease. The grade of the disease is a deciding factor to know whether liposuction or gland excision has to be done and accordingly, the cost varies. Now another thing is the duration of the surgery. Again the disease severity determines the duration of the surgery. Suppose in milder cases or smaller grades the surgery is done, the duration that is required for the surgery done is less compared to higher grades, and again whether a skin lift is also required, again determines whether the cost will increase or it will be the same. Another thing is anesthesia, the type of anesthesia used. For smaller grades, again, local anesthesia or sedation can be used for higher grades. General anesthesia is required.
And again, this impacts the duration of surgery and the OT charges. Coming to the point where anesthesia fees, again the anesthesia fees also varies with the type of anesthesia used. Now hospital stay, so small cases they can be discharged in an hour or two after observation but for cases which is done under general anesthesia needs more observation and sometimes even a night stay can be required and again the cost varies. Coming to the type of equipment or the technique which is done depends on the technique used by the surgeon whether it's ultrasound-assisted or power-assisted so it also has an impact on the cost and there are different costs because of it. Ancillary procedures that are accompanied it suppose a tummy liposuction or a tummy tuck has to be done with gynecomastia surgery, the cost varies.
Other costs, other factors which add to the cost are the medicines and the pressure garment which is used by the patient in the post-operative period and all these things together add to the cost of your gynecomastia surgery. I hope I have been clear in describing about the factors and the points which have to be considered while thinking about the cost of a gynecomastia surgery.
