This video was to be illustrative to how much blood a 120 pound female would need to lose in order to approach dying. That is over 1000 mL. The video will show what that amount of blood looks like on the ground and then what type of trail it might leave when the dead or dying person is carried away.
This is water with red food coloring. It would have a viscosity about 1/4 that of real blood, but it is going to be pretty close to a true representation of what one would see.
