In the ongoing series of Scottish and medieval music and Scottish and medieval locations, you'll likely recognize Loch Lomond. The location is the 'Pilgrim's Way' crossing the exposed causeway that leads out to Lindisfarne, of the northeast coast of England.

One of the last scenes of the Blue Bells Chronicles (at the end of The Battle is O'er) takes place on this causeway, as the tide is coming in -- hence the visit here. https://amzn.to/2CiVR3Y

During low tide, you can walk from the mainland to the island, about 3 miles. Plan for 2 hours walking time. Chris and I walked most of the way to the mainland and back. We stopped short of the mainland due to arriving at a place where a 'river' of sorts still ran. Although we could have waded across, the water would likely have been well past our knees, maybe to our waists, and we couldn't risk getting the cameras wet.

The old Scottish folksong, Blue Bells of Scotland, was later turned into a theme and variations 'show off' piece for trombone, who, like my main character Shawn, went to audition for second chair and was given first. (Something I didn't know when I wrote that as Shawn's story!

Then, finding a spreadsheet that seems to link several company investment funds together, she takes both problems to Marshall Pope, Head of Finance. Marshall blames her inexperience then promises to clear things up. Marshall quickly discusses the situation with his half-brother Jackson Slater, Head of Security at the company and they agree, like the dead woman, Kate has to go. Can Kate stay one step ahead of the murderous duo intent on bringing the company down to repay the wrong done to their mother years ago?

In March of 2018, I started composing a series of pieces in the style of Celtic jigs and reels. Around April, I was looking at a 'barn house,' an old barn completely renovated into a spacious home with lots of wide open spaces inside and out.

As I wrote this piece, I was thinking of my own seven boys running around and having fun in this open space and also of the Dick Francis novel DECIDER, about architect Lee Morris who, with his wife and six sons (and a seventh on the way by the end of the novel!) does in fact live in a converted and renovated barn!
