One night, a couple weeks ago, I was streaming Super Mario Maker 2. I had played a few viewer courses and some Endless Normal for of a couple of hours, and I was about to end the stream.

Then a viewer sent in one final course, and what a final course it was. He told me if I beat his course, he would eat a plank of wood.

With a new game comes new bad course design, and with new bad course design comes Johnny Martinez.

Any time you give a large community a video game maker tool, you're going to have people of many different levels of game experience and design sensibility uploading content of varying quality. Some are good at it, some are new and may not be as keen on good design as others, and some do a deliberately poor job. This video is for people on the newer end of the designer spectrum.

The courses in this video are all either example courses or uploads made by me. Don't take this video as an attack. I'm not trying to dunk on eight-year-old children and Japan like I did in the first video. Take this video as a guide to help you improve your courses.
