On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel announced its independence. For many, this was a long-time dream come true: "Eretz Israel" - a home for all Jewish people and for survivors of the Holocaust. Palestinians call this period the "catastrophe.”

The State of Israel was founded 75 years ago. The effects can still be felt today in the ongoing Middle East conflict. What are the historical roots of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? This documentary sheds light on the decisive years from 1897 to 1948. Israeli and Palestinian historians and experts share their reflections and contextualize the global political events of those years.

The pivotal turning point came in November 1947 with the United Nations plan to partition British Mandatory Palestine. For some, it was a dream turned reality - an independent state offering Jews protection, refuge, and a homeland. For others, it marked the beginning of a "catastrophe,” what Palestinians call the "Nakba,” defined by the loss of homeland, displacement, and uncertainty. More than 75 years after the historic UN vote, the conflict between Israel and the now occupied Palestinian territories continues. It is a source of unresolved tension in the region with reverberations in and beyond the Middle East.

White, black or brown. You have to feel bad and sorrow for the lady that lost her son because of an illegal immigrant. Doesn't matter where he's from Mexico, China, Russia. It doesn't matter. What matters is that this person did not follow the law from coming into the country to driving without proper knowledge of the road rules and maybe even without a Valid license

"Milton William "Bill" Cooper (May 6, 1943 – November 5, 2001) was an American conspiracy theorist, radio broadcaster, and author known for his 1991 book Behold a Pale Horse, in which he warned of multiple global conspiracies, some involving extraterrestrial life. Cooper also described HIV/AIDS as a man-made disease used to target blacks, Hispanics, and homosexuals, and that a cure was made before it was implemented. He has been described as a "militia theoretician"."

I found a copy of behold a pale horse in my grandmothers house after she passed away. I didn't have a clue what it was about since I was a teenager but kept the book that I still have to this day. I think I will actually read it now since it sounds fascinating.

Last month, the former White House counter-terrorism czar Richard Clarke made headlines in the alternative press when he revealed that the CIA’s failure to pass on information it knew about two of the alleged 9/11 hijackers living in the United States for over a year before the attacks–long known and discussed amongst 9/11 researchers but never mentioned in mainstream discussions of the subject—did not merely involve a few lowly CIA analysts who did not understand the importance of the information, but instead extended all the way to former CIA director George Tenet.

The explosive comments, virtually ignored in the establishment media, were made to a documentary film crew during an interview for an upcoming documentary on the CIA’s pre-9/11 intelligence “failures.”

The claim that the Director of Central Intelligence knowingly and purposely blocked the White House counter-terrorism czar and high-level FBI officials from learning about known Al Qaeda agents living in the United States is profound in its implications.

Given that any interpretation of this assertion would necessarily mean that Tenet and the other CIA officials who blocked this information actually aided the alleged 9/11 attackers and have now participated in a decade-long cover-up of their role, the question necessarily becomes: Why did they do this?

Clarke provided his own, completely speculative and non-evidence based answer to this question for the documentary cameras.

In Clarke’s view, then, the CIA was doing its best to attempt to recruit these Al Qaeda terrorists, but Saudi intelligence, perhaps working as the terrorist handlers, didn’t manage to (or didn’t attempt to) flip them in time. On the face of it, this explanation for the monumental criminal cover-up Clarke has just exposed seems to fit in with a pattern of information suggesting the good intentions of the CIA and the dastardly double-dealing of the Saudis.

Osama Bin Laden, after all, was a Saudi, and 15 of the alleged 9/11 hijackers were allegedly carrying Saudi passports.

In the immediate wake of the attacks, the FBI infamously cleared numerous members of the Saudi Bin Laden family, as well as Saudi royals, to fly out of the country.

It has been an open secret for some time that the 28 redacted pages of the Joint Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 referring to foreign government involvement in the attacks in fact refers to Saudi Arabia...

With smashing timing, Bill and Melinda Gates released a missive in the Wall Street Journal about the three myths on the world's poor coinciding with a report announcing that the top richest 85 people (a list they are solidly on) in the world have more money than the poorest 3.5 billion or 50% of the entire world's population.

This is an insane wealth gap. These people and their bajillions are essentially running the world.

In the third myth of their response, the Gates' commend Thailand as a great example of family planning because Thai women went from having an average of six children per woman just a few decades ago to having an average of 1.6 children today.

There's just one problem. Replacement rate — that is the number of children needed to maintain a stable population — is 2.1 (but it's even higher for countries with higher mortality rates). That means that Thailand is below replacement rate, a reality that is screwing up the country's social and economic foundations.

It's so bad in Thailand, actually, that articles have detailed the "aging crisis" the country now faces due to the low birth rate (example: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101119344). In fact, all the Asian nations are now facing this issue, and most of the developed world is below replacement rate as well.

Leave it to Bill Gates, billionaire eugenicist extraordinaire, to applaud a country for committing demographic suicide.

In Japan, half a million people live isolated in their bedrooms, unable to face the outside world. These modern-day hermits are known as the hikikomori. Since April 2018, the Japanese government has been conducting a nationwide study in a bid to fully understand this strange phenomenon. Once limited to young people, it now affects the whole of Japanese society. Our correspondent reports.
