How we harvest and cook wild fiddlehead ferns (Ostrich Ferns). Nothing beats spending time in the great outdoors and coming home with a tasty treat.

The harvesting window is short. Often only a week for us. We often start watching the ferns when our lilac bush starts to bug out.

A great spring wild edible and a great bushcraft skill.

Use caution when harvesting wild edibles. Be sure that you are harvesting the correct plant.

With Deep Snow and Cold temps I wanted to get outside. Trying out L.T Wright GenOx Limited edition knife and practicing some basic bushcraft skills in the deep snow. Come hang out for a relaxing day as I share some of my favorite bush crafters and a lost in the wood story.
