5 AR-15 Upgrades I Wasted Money On
I have spent a lot of money on AR-15 upgrades that really weren't necessary and sometimes even pointless. Hopefully you can avoid my mistakes!
It's easy to assume you "need" things on your new AR-15. Whether or not it's from the factory or one you assembled yourself. There are lots of concepts regarding parts and accessories that seem logical and therefore reasonable to spend the extra money on. However, over time and after shooting more of these rifles I have found that many of these perceived "upgrades" are just garnishments that don't change the actual flavor of the gun. If you want any of these components and have a good reason as to why, then go for it! But if you're not sure if you need them or you're on a tight budget, it might be better to skip the a la carte portion of the AR-15 menu.

SIG SAUER MCX-SPEAR .308 13" Accuracy Test (Sub-MOA Group?!)
I tested the accuracy of my Sig MCX-SPEAR chambered in 7.62 NATO to see if the 13" barrel could deliver down range. The results were surprising.
By the way, I am not a precision rifle shooter or a marksman by any means. But I have a decent idea of how to aim at a target and pull a trigger. That said, I must say that I am pretty impressed with this particular firearm. Not only was I able to get some good groups but it has also been 100% reliable since I've started shooting it. Since this is the winner of the US Army's NGSW contract (XM7), I wanted to see what the future might look like. So far so good. As long as you lift weights 🥵

Bare Minimum Magazines for SHTF: How Many Do You Need?
How many magazines do you need for preparedness purposes? This is my method for calculating the bare minimum I need for pistols and rifles.
You can never have enough magazines in all honesty. But there should be a goal for how many would be a good number in case of emergencies. Pistols and rifles are different and have different applications. The level of abuse and philosophy of use differs for those two magazine types but the minimum quantity required is still based on the same concept for me. What is your bare minimum magazine count? How many make you feel comfortable?

Warning For Patriots: This is How They'll Get You
I haven't seen this story reported on yet about a man being detained and firearms being seized because he wore a plate carrier in the woods.
This is a firearms rights issue and a personal security concern all in one. These flag laws are obviously created in such a way that they can be used out of context based on the decisions made by those in authoritative roles. We don't have the details yet but this story was a great example of what minutemen should expect in the near future.

I started this channel in order to learn and grow within the survival and preparedness community.
