With resumption of regular international flights to India, various states in India have begun targetting foreign tourists after a long break of two years. Along with the old favourites like Kerala, Rajasthan or Karnataka, Kashmir is also positioning itself as a prime destination in the country. In an interview with MIG TV (or Media India Group), G N Itoo, Director of Kashmir Tourism outlines the preparations made by Kashmir to receive foreign tourists again, notably by launching 75 off beat locations for tourists to visit. Itoo adds that Kashmir is also ideal for solo women travellers as well as for MICE.

On May 13, 1638, Red Fort construction began. It took over 8 years to build and was completed on April 6, 1648.
