Recently saw an interesting video about 5 common types of disassociate states of consciousness. One of the states, "maladaptive daydreaming" described very well something I have been experiencing for some time now. Or perhaps I always have, because I remember as a child always having a very active imagination, a vivid dreamer, and an enthusiast of daydreaming. Still am. Guess I'm a dreamer.

What is Creativity Livity? It's a Ross-ian "happy accident." In working on coming up with a title for this chat with my good friend Regan, I was searching my mind for a word that would rhyme with 'creativity', and the word 'livity' was bouncing around in my mind. But I wasn't sure where the word came from, or was it even a real word? Where did I get it this word? Went to look it up and the memory came back, it is a Rastafari word, and something I picked up from listening to Damian Marley. So I looked up what the word meant and decided it was an excellent fit for the title for this chat. "Livity is a spiritual concept in Rastafari that refers to righteous and everliving living. It is the realization that an energy or life force, conferred by God, exists within and flows through all people and living things. Livity is a lifestyle or way of life that involves being open, connected, and creative with one's life. It signifies living in harmony with oneself, community, and nature in ways that support the health and wellbeing of the Earth and all life." - Miller, Timothy (1995). America's Alternative Religions. So, the title of the chat was a little happy accident, a word from outside my culture, picked up from song lyrics echoing in my mind, but it turned out to be a nice fit. Inspired by Regan's writing, I invited him to sit down and chat, and explore creativity as a pathway to embracing the new, embracing our uniqueness as individuals, and the process of giving while embracing everliving living.

You have to go it alone. It's the hero's journey. It's THE JOURNEY. That's life. Yeah, it hurts, and it's sad, but that's temporary, you won't feel alone forever. You won't be isolated forever. You are bridging a gap, like the tightrope walker. You were chosen for this journey because you are special. You are in the midst of a storm. Embrace it. Celebrate it. Don't run away, go THROUGH the eye of the storm. It's brighter on the other side.

You try to share your vulnerability with people, which reminds them that they too are vulnerable which makes them uncomfortable because their vulnerablity is something they were trying to supress, cover up, ignore, or destroy. So they project onto you and either set themselves up on a pedestal and talk down to you (not as an equal). Or they want to kill the messenger. It's a terrible cycle, that we can't share our vulnerabilities with each other. If my open-ness to sharing vulnerabilities makes you uncomfortable, by all means, talk down to me, remind yourself you are superior to me, ridicule me, crucify me, kill me,..... but..... be aware you only get temporary relief when you do that, your own vulnerabilities will still be waiting for you and will come when you are finally ready to deal with them.
