El periodista y escritor español César Vidal, aborda el tema de la manipulación del lenguaje citando Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) de George Orwell, una obra que muestra el paralelismo entre la sociedad actual donde se utiliza la información y la represión política y social, situación que vive Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador.

César Vidal afirma que este mecanismo es un instrumento político con el que el marxismo leninismo consiguió crear palabras mordaza que siguen teniendo éxito en la actualidad, y menciona que aun cuando cayó la unión soviética, no fue el final del uso del lenguaje manipulado, con finalidades políticas, ni el final de las dictaduras de izquierdas, sino simplemente una mutación.

"El bolchevismo creó por primera vez un término que todavía hoy resulta indispensable en ciencia política ‘agitación y propaganda’ una forma de manipulación...".

Menciona César Vidal que después del Foro de Sao Pablo, de alguna manera en Latinoamérica se pretende mantener un lenguaje de izquierda, como en el régimen chavista de Venezuela que está mucho más cerca del fascismo de Benito Mussolini que del fascismo leninista.

Afirma César Vidal que la manipulación del lenguaje de los gobiernos socialistas del siglo XXI descansan sobre tres pilares: la primera es la insistencia de que la guerra es la paz y es evidente como los gobiernos de Venezuela, Nicaragua y Bolivia se mantienen sobre la base de un ejército politizado y violento.

El segundo pilar de la manipulación del lenguaje, son los populismos, que reclaman justicia para los pobres y el tercer pilar donde hacen creer que las tinieblas son la luz a través de la manipulación de los evangelios, para justificar sus dictaduras y así es como surge la Teología de la liberación donde se utiliza la Biblia para aplicar el marxismo, que como vivo ejemplo está Nicaragua.

Expresa César Vidal que el liberal debe ser capaz de examinar todo, discriminar y filtrar lo que es verdadero porque no existe otro camino si se quiere conservar la libertad, pues los populismos, las dictaduras del siglo XXI han conseguido manipular el lenguaje de manera aterradora.

"…Es imposible asumir la verdad cuando nos dejamos manipular por el lenguaje, absorbemos la propaganda totalitaria y aceptamos que se nos imponga una agenda liberticida".

Periodista y escritor, autor de numerosas obras históricas, novelas y ensayos. Es licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, España, doctor en Historia por la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) y doctor en Derecho por la Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX).

Posee también, doctorados en Teología y Filosofía por la Logos University de Jacksonville, Florida, EE.UU. Es miembro de la American Schools of Oriental Research o el Oriental Institute of Chicago, instituciones que se dedican al estudio de las civilizaciones antiguas en el Oriente Medio, entre otras actividades intelectuales que realiza.
