Shibari is a phrase that means to tie decoratively. Also known as kinbaku, it is the contemporary art of Japanese rope bondage. By combining together basic knots and easy patterns, a rigger is able to construct a bondage restraint that is functional, ephemeral, and beautiful all at the same time.
