In this video, I will show you how to control a NeoPixel strip using microPython on the Raspberry Pi Pico W. We use the 8 pixel strip from the Sunfounder kit. The concepts we show will be the same for much larger strips, just for larger strips you need a separate 5V DC power supply. We create a dynamic and dramatic display by stepping the pixels through all the colors of the rainbow. We do this by incorporating an HSV color wheel, and step through all the angles of the color wheel. We convert those colors to RGB and display them on the neopixel pixels. In addition, each pixel is offset by 45 degrees on the HSV color wheel, so at any point in time, the rainbow is also displayed across the pixels. In other words, we have a rainbow cycling both in time, and across the neopixel array.
