Is your salvation in jeopardy if you leave the Lutheran church and join Roman Catholicism? I mean, they have so much in common, they're, like, totally the same, right? Right?? Revelation 20:13, 2 Corinthians 5:10, James 1:22 and 1 Peter 1:17 all seem to make a pretty clear case for works playing a part in our salvation. But of course, if we know anything here at WEtv, it is context, context, context! Next time your Roman Catholic or American Evangelical friend (or your very confused Lutheran friend) tells you that Christians MUST do good works or they aren't saved, this will be a great video to point them to. Pastor Fisk puts works (and those verses) in their proper place in the Christian life and it has nothing to do with your justification.

Somehow we got the wrong lectionary reading scheduled, but that doesn't stop this Greek Tuesday from being awesome! Pastor Fisk goes through 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 and really gives you an excellent take that you don't hear in American Evangelicalism and even in some Lutheran circles. What if the whole point of this chapter is that weakness is better? What if the fantastical, miraculous gifts ceased with the apostles and that this is actually a really good thing? Get your Bible out and be prepared to have your reading of this famous chapter totally turned on its head.

How should we pray? And what is the Gospel? You'd be surprised how much mysticism and outright magic can sneak in to our lives disguised as teaching on "prayer". Pastor Fisk walks you through the parable of the persistent widow and what Jesus was teaching his disciples regarding how to pray. And then he gives you the Gospel. Because, ultimately, that's what WEtv is all about! A great question came in from a former Jehovah's Witness on what the Gospel is because as a JW, all she got was Law Law Law. Of course, we all need the Law, but we also all need the Gospel.

Fisk is so judgmental in this episode.
How are we to understand Jesus when he says, "Judge not, lest ye be judged"? Especially when we as human beings are constantly making judgments. Can we still call out sin when we see it? Or false doctrine? Or does this cry of "judge not" preclude us from making any claims about truth at all?
