No one had a baton - so we headbutted him': Passenger reveals how a fellow commuter bravely stepped into stop a man 'threatening to stab people' on a packed train
Suited man struck bearded man on c2c service between West Ham and Barking
Commuters cheered and praised him for protecting passengers in East London
Bearded man was allegedly harassing others and was restrained until Upminster
Police then arrested him on suspicion of carrying a knife and a theft offence

A commuter was today hailed as a 'hero' after headbutting a man who had allegedly been fighting and making violent threats on board a train from London.

The suited man, who was believed to have been travelling home, struck the bearded man on the c2c service between West Ham and Barking in East London yesterday.

Commuters cheered and praised the suited man for protecting other passengers whom the bearded man was said to have been harassing on the train.

The bearded man was restrained before police took him off at Upminster station in Essex, where he was arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife and theft by finding.
Del Scott-Lewis, a passenger in his 40s from Ockenden, told MailOnline he was involved in trying to stop the bearded man from attacking anyone on the train.
He told MailOnline: 'I'm looking round over my left shoulder, facing a girl sitting down. He's mumbling on about 'I'm from f***ing Afghanistan'.

'Then an old workman behind him has got up and said to this guy 'leave her alone'. Then the guy punched him five or six times. I saw him fall backwards.
'I turned round and shouted out: 'let's get him off at the next stop'. When I got to him I grabbed hold of his right arm and marched him to the centre of the train.

'When I got him against the door, this bloke who did the headbutting grabs hold of his left arm. He started struggling. The heatbutt was needed, desperately needed.

'I put the phone down and went to restrain the guy. Before the headbutt comes, he was talking about killing me. Then the word 'stab' came up.

'We saw no knife, but he made the threat to stab us. When he made the threat, no one had a baton - so we headbutted him.

'If someone threatens to stab you, and you've got no baton on you, the only course available was to shut him up.

'At that point some of the kids on the train started getting scared. I've never been in a situation like this before. It was a judgement.'

Mark Taylor, who said he was also on the train, told MailOnline: 'The guy was causing trouble. He had tried to sit on the divider between the seats.

'When a bloke of about 60 asked him to stop he attacked him. The big bloke and some others pulled him off. The big guy restrained him for about five or six minutes while being permanently shouted at and abused. Finally he had enough.

'No one could blame him and it did the carriage a favour. That's why everyone was laughing. He was hauled out at Upminster. Eventful journey.'

The video begins with the bearded man having a heated discussion with the tall suited man, who appears to be restraining his fellow passenger with his wrists.

The bearded passenger then shouts at the suited man: 'Look at me I'm stupid!' – before the latter violently headbutts him, sending him forcibly flying backwards.

The victim of the headbutt was visibly thrown down and backwards by the force of the blow

Some passengers on the crowded train gasp in horror, while others cheered and laughed at the move. Later, commuters discussed the incident on social media.

A witness said on Facebook: 'This guy was harassing and trying to provoke fights the entire journey until he was escorted off.

'Everyone was ignoring him as it was a busy train and no one wanted any trouble. The final straw was when he jumped in between two seats and was practically sitting on a person's head.

'The passenger simply told him to get down and the guy started laughing and started using horrible language towards him and a lot of other passengers on the train.

Miami cop is placed on administrative leave after appearing in raunchy Instagram video marching a Playboy model and two half-naked friends in handcuffs towards police HQ
Officer William Beeker appeared in a raunchy Instagram video alongside three scantily-clad models on Monday
The footage shows the cop marching the handcuffed trio to the front of the Miami Beach precinct
The clip has been viewed more than 1.4 million times, prompting the police department's Internal Affairs unit to conduct an investigation

A Florida cop has been placed on administrative duties after he pretended to arrest three half-naked models in a scripted video shared to Instagram.

The Miami Beach Police Department's Internal Affairs unit launched an investigation into Officer William Beeker on Monday, just hours after the raunchy clip was uploaded to social media.

The footage shows the scantily-clad women, including Playboy model Francia James, being marched towards Miami Beach police station by Beeker.

The trio - who are wearing handcuffs and little else - then arrive at the precinct's front doors where they line up with their backs towards the camera.

Officer Beeker, who is dressed in full police uniform, is seen looking the women up and down before the clip cuts off.
'Do you like bad girls or good girls? Who's gonna bail us out?' Francia James captioned the clip, which has been viewed more than 644,000 times on her account.

The clip was also posted by the other models, and has now collectively been viewed more than 1.4 million times.

Francia later shared a separate video to her Instagram Stories, which shows the women with their handcuffs unlocked as they stand around Officer Beeker while he sits proudly atop a police quad bike.

'Thank you Officer Bill for letting us go,' the trio coo.

'No problem, enjoy the community! I like to protect and serve,' the cop responds, before he speeds off on the vehicle.

Shortly after the videos were posted, a police spokesperson released a statement saying: 'On Monday, October 7th the Department was made aware of a video posted to social media.

Chief Richard Clements immediately launched an Internal Affairs investigation and placed Officer William Beeker in an administrative capacity while the investigation takes its course.'

Social media reaction to the video has been divided, with locals sharing their opinions beneath a Twitter post on the incident shared by 7News reporter Sheldon Fox.

'Are all Police Departments scraping the bottom of the barrel when hiring officers?' one asked, before adding: 'If there's a shortage of decent Americans willing to do the job of law enforcement, bring in some refugees and immigrants. They're decent, & they'll gladly do the work.'

However, others thought an investigation was an overreaction.

'Out all of scandal these days ... this is actually pretty light and almost a non-issue,' one stated.

Patton was caught on video unleashing a horrific racist rant where she boasted 'I would kill a n****r but the law says I can't kill the niggers!'
She launched her hateful speech at a CVS in Los Angeles on Tuesday
A woman followed her and filmed her bizarre harangue
She repeatedly yelled the n-word before getting into her SUV parked in a handicapped spot
LAPD say they're investigating the incident The white Hollywood costume designer who launched into a racist tirade at a California CVS claims that she was 'intoxicated' when she shouted about how she wanted to 'kill niggers'

Heather Patton, 49, updated her Instagram bio to ask that she not be contacted and offered an apology for her racist actions.

'I was intoxicated and I sincerely apologize to everyone whom I disrespected and let down by my actions,' the Los Angeles resident said. 'Please forgive me.'

Patton's bio update comes a day after she was criticized for shocking video that showed her launching into the racist rant at the Eagle Rock CVS on September 24. No, I just hate niggers. Fuck you niggers'. I would kill a niggers but the law says I can't kill the n*****s. If the law didn't say that I couldn't kill the niggers, they'd all be dead!' she screams in reply.

A man passes her and says: 'C'mon, lady take a break'. The woman behind the phone says: 'It's okay, we're calling the cops right now'.

Then Patton, dressed in all black, walks to her car and taunts, 'Here's my license plate number!', unashamed of the fact she was being filmed.

Then before getting into her Honda SUV, which was parked in a handicap reserved spot, she bellowed at the top of her lungs 'niggers! Niggers! Niggers!'

A CVS customer reported the disturbing rant on Wednesday.

LAPD tells DailyMail.com they're aware of the incident and investigating, but did not confirm the name of the woman in the video.

13-year-old boy died after getting his head knocked against a cement pillar during a nasty beat-down by two other teenagers at his California middle school, authorities said Wednesday.

Cellphone footage of the Sept. 16 attack at Moreno Valley Landmark Middle School shows the boy, identified as Diego, being hit in the face by one student and then sucker-punched on the side of the head by another.

The second blow sends him falling to the ground, his head hitting a pillar on the way down, according to the clip obtained by KTLA-5.

The first attacker can be seen hurrying over to punch Diego again while he’s on the ground.

Classmates told the outlet that Diego had been bullied at school and on social media.

He was pronounced clinically dead on Tuesday night “as a result of injuries sustained in the attack,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday. The two other boys, both also 13, were charged with suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury in connection with the attack and remained at Riverside County Juvenile Hall. Officials didn’t say if charges against them would be increased since Diego’s death.

School administrators said the two students arrested didn’t have any previous behavior problems and were honor students.

The incident prompted outrage from parents about bullying at the school.

“This is a life-changing tragedy for everyone involved, including the staff and students at Landmark Middle School,” Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez said, according to The Press-Enterprise.

The school district expressed its condolences to the victim’s family for the “devastating loss,” it said in a statement.

“As we mourn together, we also want to come together to find solutions and to take the necessary steps so that tragic incidents like this do not happen again,” district spokesperson Anahi Velasco said.

The family is planning on donating Diego’s organs “to transform this tragedy into the gift of life for other children,” the sheriff’s department said.

A vigil for Diego will be held at the school on Wednesday evening.

Kalina Gaines, 30, was arrested after the 8:30 a.m. Monday incident at the corner of Murfreesboro Pike and Borowood Drive.

The Tennessee attorney general wants to set executions for nine additional death row inmates, including four from Nashville and two from Memphis, a further sign that the state is leaning into capital punishment as other states are turning away from the practice.

The federal public defender's office, which has a unit focused on fighting executions, condemned the "request for mass executions." Seven of the nine men included in the requests are represented by public defenders.

"Each case is unique and represents a number of fundamental constitutional problems including innocence, racism, and severe mental illness," federal public defender Kelley Henry said in a statement. "We will oppose the appointed Attorney General’s request."

Henry said the office was "surprised" by the requests, which came by mail without advanced notice.

Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery submitted the requests for execution dates last week. The Tennessee Supreme Court sets executions.

Slatery has repeatedly pushed to execute death row inmates since he was appointed in 2014.

Tennessee has executed five inmates since August 2018. One more execution is set for December. Two are set for 2020, including inmate Abu-Ali Abdur'Rahman of Nashville.

Criminal Court Judge Monte Watkins approved a deal struck with the Nashville district attorney to allow Abdur'Rahman, 68, to spend the rest of his life in prison, instead of being put to death.

Slatery's office is appealing that deal, and hopes to move forward with Abdur'Rahman's execution.

The men included in Slatery's latest round of requests are:

Byron Black, who was sentenced to death following his convictions for the 1987 murders of his girlfriend Angela Clay and her two daughters, Latoya and Lakeisha Clay in Nashville.
Tony V. Carruthers, who was convicted for the 1994 murders of Marcellos Anderson, Delois Anderson and Frederick Tucker in Memphis.
Henry Eugene Hodges, who pleaded guilty to the 1990 murder and robbery of Ronald Bassett in Nashville.
Donald Ray Middlebrooks, who was convicted for the 1987 "torture-murder" of Kerrick Majors. The Tennessee Supreme Court initially reversed the death sentence in 1992 and sent the case back to trial court for resentencing. Middlebrooks was subsequently given a second death sentence in Nashville.
Farris Genner Morris, who was convicted in the 1997 murders of Erica Hurd and James Ragland in Madison County. Morris also was convicted of rape in the case.
Pervis Tyrone Payne, who was convicted for the 1987 murders of Charisse Christopher and her 2-year-old daughter Lacie in Memphis. Payne also was convicted of intent to murder Christopher's 3-year-old son Nicholas.
Oscar Franklin Smith, who was sentenced to death for the triple murders of his estranged wife Judy Lynn Smoth and her two sons from a previous marriage, Chad and Jason Burnett in Nashville.
Gary Wayne Sutton, who was convicted of two 1992 murders in East Tennessee.
Harold Wayne Nichols, who was convicted in a 1988 rape and murder in Hamilton County.

CARDINALS (0-1-1): One popular misconception about the Air Raid offense is that it is pass-happy. Effective running is supposed to be a feature of the attack. It wasn’t for Arizona on Sunday, and it cost the Cardinals dearly. On three drives that resulted in field goals, Arizona ran a combined 10 offensive plays from inside Baltimore's 15-yard line. Two of those plays were runs, and eight were passes. Larry Fitzgerald and Charles Clay profile as the Cardinals' best red-zone receiving threats, but defenses will be able to take them away because of Arizona's lack of a running game. Had the Cardinals turned two of those field goals into touchdowns, they would have pulled off the road upset. The Cardinals’ offensive line is not a strength, but it must find a way to create space for David Johnson near the goal line. Kyler Murray’s legs may prove to be the key. RAVENS (2-0): Most expected Baltimore to dominate, but the Cardinals were a surprisingly difficult out. QB Lamar Jackson is the real deal. His decision-making, both as a passer and when executing the read option (120 yards rushing), stood out. So did Jackson’s accuracy and overall throwing ability. He has already thrown for more touchdowns (seven) in 2019 than he did in his entire rookie season. Clearly, he is developing an on-the-field relationship with rookie Marquise Brown and second-year wideout Mark Andrews. They combined for 16 receptions and 198 receiving yards. Jackson’s amazing running talents were not needed Week 1 in Miami, but just in case anyone forgot, the second-year quarterback put on full display how dangerous he is in that capacity. Jackson is the engine of this offense, and it's extremely difficult for defenses to get a bead on him. Get the feeling Week 3 against KC will have playoff implications down the road? Youssef Karim Hasan Al-Bayjani (pictured above) was stabbed to death on Tuesday

The family of a 17-year-old student who was stabbed to death outside a KFC have said he had been afraid to go to college on the day of his murder.

Youssef Karim Hasan Al-Bayjani was attacked by a gang in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon in Edgware Road, London.

The teenager was repeatedly stabbed in a brawl as customers at the fast-food eatery queued for their meals.

Speaking today, his 19-year-old cousin said Youssef, who had been studying business at the City of Westminster College, might still be alive if he hadn't gone in that day.

He told the Evening Standard: 'He told his mum that he didn't want to go, saying he wasn't well and hadn't had much sleep the night before.

'His mum doesn't know what to do. She has been crying all day and hasn't been able to eat or slept since.''His mother is alive but she is dead on the inside. To raise a boy for 17 years and to have him taken away because people think they are gangsters, it's just nonsense.'

Videos of the incident have since been published, with Youssef being the 21st teenager to be killed in London this year.

Ali-Jamac - known as Diddie - was taken off flight just 30 minutes before it left
The rapist, of Feltham, Middlesex, jailed for six years for having sex with girl, 14
Dramatic footage shows the moment police swooped on a fleeing child rapist as he sat on a plane just minutes before the flight was due to take off for Ethiopia.

Diiriye Ali-Jamac, 34, who was jailed for six years for having sex with a 14-year-old girl in a hotel, was arrested by officers at Heathrow.

The bodycam footage shows police entering the plane and approaching a stunned Ali-Jamac, and ordered him to get off, half an hour before the flight was due to leave.

Back in the terminal he is filmed being spoken to by officers, and when he is told he is on a wanted list he replies 'for what?' before the charge is read to him.Ali-Jamac, of Feltham, Middlesex, was jailed for six years at Kingston Crown Court after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child.

The investigation was launched after the victim was reported missing by her mother in April. She was found by officers at Hounslow train station the following day.

The youngster revealed she had arranged to meet the man - who she knew only as Diddie - before being taken to a hotel to have sex.

Surrey Police told how their investigation unfolded in a series of tweets.

They said they were first able to identify the hotel using information from the background of a selfie the teenager had taken on her phone.Ali-Jamac had paid for the hotel using cash, and had given a false name, so they trawled CCTV footage from around the hotel and spotted the car he had used.

After they tracked down the car, and discovered it did not belong to Ali-Jamac, but they then discovered a link between the nickname Diddie and Ali Jamac.

They then found he had bought a one way ticket to Ethiopia and had boarded a plane. They then arrested him on board as he waited to take off.

Mobile phone records showed he had got a text from the owner of the car, telling him that the car had been stopped and seized by police in relation to an allegation of sexual assault.Officers also found a text message from Ali-Jamac's solicitor on 1 May saying he had received a voicemail from him and had tried to call him back, and asking him if everything was OK.

Ali-Jamac was then charged and remanded in custody before he was sentenced on August 19.

Detective Constable Sally Michail from North Surrey's Child Exploitation and Missing Unit, said: 'I would like to commend the victim for her bravery in speaking out against Ali-Jamac and having to re-live the horrendous ordeal she had suffered at his hands all over again when she provided her statement.

'She was completely taken in by this man, who was 20 years her senior and someone she thought she could trust.
'As soon as he became aware that police were on his trail, he tried to leave the country but fortunately we intercepted him as he boarded his flight.

'I would like to thank the team who worked on this investigation for the sensitive and professional way they dealt with the victim to gain her trust so that she felt supported in giving her evidence, and for their relentless pursuit of Ali-Jamac, with officers working a 28 hour shift, including trawling through CCTV footage from the hotel, to ensure that he was identified as quickly as possible.'

Christian Bey, 30, charged with fatally shooting Officer Calvin Hall in Homewood, met all of his parole conditions, maintained part-time employment and passed drug and alcohol tests consistently after he was paroled in July 2017, according to the report.
Bey was one of five men who were charged between May and July with committing homicides while on state parole. The rash of killings — which resulted in the deaths of two children, three women and Officer Hall — prompted the corrections department to review its parole system.

Even after years spent bouncing in and out of apartments and back into homelessness, Dwayne Fields always found solace in his six-string, friends said.
The beloved musician and mentor could often be seen with an acoustic or electric guitar in hand near 6th and San Pedro streets in downtown Los Angeles' skid row, strumming blues riffs that one friend swore sounded identical to those of Fields' idol, Jimi Hendrix.
The teen said after she was struck, her dad, Pleaze Robinson, showed up and pulled the neighbor away from her vehicle.

Another witness said when Robinson pulled the woman away from his daughter’s vehicle, that he “body slammed” the woman onto the pavement, then proceeded to sit on her back and strike her “at least 30 times.”
The victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries to her face.
