This is how we collect fresh water from our spring. Over the river and through the woods....well more like through the creek and through the woods.

Sorry, this vlog is a few weeks late. We’ve been having internet issues. But that’s off grid living for ya.

so last winter we heated with kerosene. it was cheaper than propane but still expensive to someone like me who has more time than money. So this year winter i decided to heat with wood. since its not safe to put a wood stove in a camper i decided to build a 10x12 lean-to shed onto the side of my camper. Its an inexpensive way of putting up a small heatable building.

Update: where have we been? Are we surviving? Are the animals surviving? How are we surviving?

Many things are going on here and we’ve been so busy and distracted that we have forgotten to keep you all updated. Here’s what’s new this week at our farm.

It’s that season again. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the poison ivy has come out of hibernation. You can pretty much run into poison ivy anywhere and if you are in a wooded area like we are, it’s impossible to avoid it.
Here are the 2 simply ways that we are handling our poison ivy issue.

In this video, I will show you how to simply trim your goats hooves. Our model is a three month old doeling named Pearl. This is her first trimming. Most goats need their hooves trimmed about once a month to help prevent them from getting hoof rot.

if your interested in purchasing a trimer for yourself please consider buy through the link below. I would help support our channel :)

Since we’ve been married, our life together has been simply put: Crazy. We were homeless within the first month of marriage and have lived in many different situations. We are finally in a place that we want and chose for ourselves. A place our closest friends like to think of as ‘the promise land’.
The reason it is like the promise land is because years before we met, God had called David out to ‘return to the ancient paths’. Through many years of turbulence, we have finally gotten to this point of following the Lord’s plan for us.
Come learn with us as we navigate this (Crazy to the modern world) way of living.
Our plans are to grow our own food, raise our own meat/milk, and build our own home.
