Tahra outside the Old Bailey at lunchtime on Fri 11th Feb 2022

Tahra of the Freedom Festival was strong, eloquent, powerful, passionate and full of life. So many good warriors were standing together to support Tahra.

In the Old Bailey, from the public gallery, the prosecution barrister’s argument was weak and the defence barrister's statement was erudite and very convincing.

Previously the probation officer completed a sentencing report for the judge, which recommended a 2 year suspended sentence, plus 40 days re-education.

In the court room the judge made his summary statement and the sentence for Tahra for Point A was 11 months in custody and point B, 6 months in custody to run concurrently.

1/2 of the sentence (5 & 1/2 months) was to be served in custody, less time already spent in prison (6 days) and time spent with an ankle tag (approx 5 weeks) so the maximum time in prison should be 4 months.

The other 1/2 of the 11 month sentence (5 & 1/2 months) was to be served on license (outside prison).

The judge said that Tahra was very charismatic, intelligent, educated and influential!

Tahra was stoic when asked to see her barrister, always thinking of us and gave us her love whilst she was led away to prison. Understandably we were all very shocked by the sentence. Tahra is a martyr to the cause of our inalienable human rights to freedom of expression and a right to hold and express an opinion in public.

Despite them making an example of Tahra she is going to emerge stronger and more powerful. They cannot silence her!!!

According to her probation officer they’re very scared of her positively educating women in prison due to her influential character.

They cannot stop her from telling the truth, that ultimately love conquers all...
