Just some average footage I shot of my third kill as a novice hunter.
All goats so far as we have a lot of them around here. This was my first standing shot, so it was not as accurate as my last two shots on bipod or that I would have liked, but still a good hit... penetrated the body and destroyed a rear leg. It ran down hill due to its leg being broken and ended up right next to the car. Was already dead when I tried to cut its head off just nerves still reacting... knife was sharp enough, just bad technique and lots of bone and ligaments.
Goat hunting is completely unrestricted in New Zealand, other than general hunting rules for safety obviously.
Crossbows are a completely unrestricted weapon in New Zealand. as are .22 air rifles so al game can be obtained with unrestricted weapons. Deer hunting would be much more difficult with a crossbow wit the short ethical range of only about 50m
These weapons can kill any large game our country has to offer, just within a 50m range.
