5.56x45mm Lake City M855 and .223 Rem 55gr FMJ fired from 16" 1:9" RRA upper into Clear Ballistics clear gel "10%" ballistic gelatin substitute to assess relative penetration, neck length, and yaw in comparison to other tests in this series.

Please note that clear gel has the potential to yield inaccurate penetration results and the appearance of disturbance in the gel cannot be compared with real gelatin. This video is an extended version of a test that is a portion of a video to be published on TFB TV.

I fired 10mm Federal 180gr Trophy Bonded soft point from a pistol and a 10.5 inch "carbine" into clear gel and real ballistic gelatin to find out the truth.

Clear gel is generally "good enough" to produce results that correlate pretty closely with real 10% ballistic gelatin in regard to penetration, expansion/fragmentation, and retained weight measurements when testing hollow point pistol ammo, but the difference in material properties can make the results from tests of other ammunition types less accurate. When I tested 10mm Federal 180gr Trophy Bonded soft point in clear gel, the results were not consistent with the results from real 10% ballistic gelatin.

5.45x39mm 7n6 has a reputation for being particularly deadly due to yaw. Let's look at performance in clear ballistic gel to gauge how early the yaw occurs and whether the reputation is deserved.

Firearms safety training is of paramount importance. Footage from a recent carbine class with Independence Training in Casa Grande, AZ. I tested several optics during this class and the reviews will publish on the AR15.com YouTube channel in the fullness of time.

The day is approaching to give your best
That's when you need to put yourself to the test
And show us the passage of time

We're gonna need a montage (Montage)
A sports-training montage (Montage)
Remind everyone what's goin' on (What's goin' on?)
And with every shot show a little improvement
To show it won't take too long

That's called a montage (Montage)
Even Rocky had a montage (Montage)
In any sport, if you want to go
From just a beginner to a pro
You'll need a montage (Montage)
A simple little montage (Montage)

Always fade out (Montage)
Into a montage (Montage)
If you fade out it seems like a long time (Montage) has passed in a montage (Montage)

Yugoslavian M67 7.62x39mm is generally regarded as being a great choice for shit hit the fan ammo because it is brass cased, has a sealed neck and primer, comes on stripper clips in sealed tins, and has a reputation for early yaw.
