John Smeaton is Vice-President of the International Right to Life Federation and co-founder of Voice of the Family, an international organization established in 2014 to support bishops seeking to uphold Catholic teaching on marriage, human sexuality, and the sanctity of human life. He was chief executive of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) in the United Kingdom from 1996 until 31st August 2021, and he was General Secretary of the Society from 1978 until 1996. SPUC was the first pro-life organisation to be established in the world in 1966 and has led the educational and political pro-life battle in the United Kingdom for over 55 years.

At the United Nations Conferences in Cairo, Copenhagen, Beijing, Istanbul and Rome, John Smeaton played a leading role in organising over 150 pro-life and pro-family NGOs as an effective lobbying force resulting in important pro-life victories in Cairo, Istanbul and Rome, where attempts by rich western nations to impose abortion on demand policies on the poorest nations on earth were defeated.

John Smeaton was presented the Cardinal John J. O’Connor Pro Life Award by Legatus in 2013 and the Father Paul Marx OSB Pro Life Award by Human Life International in 2015.

“Since April 24, the American College of Pediatricians has been facing an ongoing, coordinated, malicious cyberattack by hackers on our key technology structures, databases, and our financial accounts. This attack was intended to intimidate and incapacitate, and it will be costly to recover, but we will not be intimidated by these illegal bullying tactics that amount to a hate crime. We will continue to promote the health and well-being of children by protecting the rights of born and preborn children, promoting biological integrity, and defending conscience rights for healthcare professionals.”

Austin Ruse is an activist, journalist author and serves as President of The Center for Family and Human Rights ("C-Fam"), a New York and Washington DC-based research institute in Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council. C-Fam has played a central role in blocking a global right to abortion and blocking sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) from becoming a new category of non-discrimination in international law. Austin has published more than 1000 essays, columns, and articles along with four books, including "Fake Science: Exposing the Left’s Skewed Statistics,," and, "Under Siege: No Finer Time to be a Faithful Catholic."

Austin  spent many years in the New York magazine world, working at senior levels at Fortune, Forbes, The Atlantic Monthly, and Rolling Stone.  After a religious conversion, Austin left that world and began volunteering his time at his Catholic Church. In 1997 he joined a pro-life lobbying group at the United Nations, then called "The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute." He has briefed members of the U.S. House and Senate, the National Security Council and the White House staff on U.N. matters. He has appeared on CNN, CBS News, MSNBC, Fox News, and other media outlets.

Ruse’s articles have been published in First Things, Washington Times, National Review Online, Weekly Standard, Human Events, Touchstone, and newspapers around the world.  He is a founder of the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast. Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse explains that since the inception of the Sexual Revolution, sexualization of children has been baked in, and the original (and modern) proponents of that haven't even been shy about it.

Ruth Institute Messaging Document
Updated November 2021

The Ruth Institute is an international interfaith coalition to defend the family and build a Civilization of Love.

Founded in 2008 by world-renowned author, speaker and academic Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, The Ruth Institute equips people to understand, appreciate and defend traditional Christian sexual ethics by providing scientifically sound evidence, carefully reasoned arguments, and compelling personal testimonies.

The Ruth Institute has a Dream that all children be welcomed into life in a loving home with their own mother and father, married to each other.

The Ruth Institute believes that:
• All people have the right to know their cultural heritage and genetic identity.
• Every child has a right to a relationship with his or her natural mother and father except for an unavoidable tragedy.

The Ruth Institute rejects the idea that a child is a problem to solve if you don’t want one and an object to purchase if you do want one.

The Ruth Institute upholds the ancient Christian teachings about marriage, family, and human sexuality. These teachings are today sometimes regarded as exclusively “Catholic,” but in fact, Judaism, and most Christian groups, historically taught many of the same things. The Ruth Institute works with individuals and groups, religious or otherwise, who share our views, in whole or in part, regardless of their positions on other issues.
