Thoughts, rants, how to's, music, audio, video, comedy. The comedy of tragedy.

Uncle Kenta has been rolling tape and cutting tracks since the 1970's. As a child, Uncle Kenta took a tape recorder and captured he and his brother trying not to laugh while sneaking into their dads bedroom while he napped. Yep, they woke dad up with their snickering, ultimately laughing and running out the room. "The O-ee Show", as they called it, was UK and his brother cassette tape recording miscellaneous childish shenanigans. In the 1980's, long before email, The Web, Facebook and YouTube even existed, Uncle Kenta experimented in tape recording and music. Uncle Kenta produced "Live In Arizona" the spontaneous random recording of weekend shenanigans of him and his friends running around town, going to parties, concerts, and other nonsense. The Live In Arizona cassette tapes were postal mailed weekly to a friend who was going to school in another state. The shows main purpose was to share happenings with that friend, who would send return tapes of his own going's on's. Uncle Kenta is also a life long shitty musician. UK's first instrument was a cheap Sears and Roebuck acoustic guitar with vinyl gig bag his mom bought him when he was 7 years old. Uncle Kenta has performed in front of thousands in the Parada del Sol Parade. UK was also a member of a major cult sideshow band performing hundreds of live gigs from 1996-1999. Over the years, UK's other musical experiments have included piano, trumpet, harmonica, electric guitar, bass, voice, and most recently whiskey glass and poker chip percussion. UK also dabbled in super 8 film cinematography (including the good ol' make the subject disappear cut bit), 35mm photography, and video. He spent years trying to capture lightning on 35mm film. Once the digital age hit, it was too easy to photograph lightning, so he quit. In 2009 Uncle Kenta made a failed attempt to form a Faith No More tribute band. The project never made it past rehearsals with guitarist Bryan Linder (currently lead guitarist for Stereo Rex). Bry and UK recorded video of the rehearsal sessions and posted them on YouTube. They consider the project successful, because they still get views and comments from folks in South America. In 2012, Uncle Kenta began building a private recording studio and once again was experimenting with sound recording. In 2016 Uncle Kenta founded Kaduku Studios which will enable audio and video production for a long list of ideas he's been collecting for years. Shenanigans old and new shall ensue.
