Under the pretense of having a picnic, a geologist (John Meillon) takes his teenage daughter (Jenny Agutter) and 6-year-old son (Lucien John) into the Australian outback and attempts to shoot them. When he fails, he turns the gun on himself, and the two city-bred children must contend with harsh wilderness alone. They are saved by a chance encounter with an Aboriginal boy (David Gulpilil) who shows them how to survive and in the process underscores the disharmony between nature and modern life.

It won Grand Prix at Mar del Plata International Film Festival (1965).

In a Carpathian village, Ivan falls in love with Marichka, the daughter of his father’s killer. When tragedy befalls her, his grief lasts months; finally he rejoins the colorful life around him, marrying Palagna. She wants children but his mind stays on his lost love.

To recapture his attention, Palagna tries sorcery, and in the process comes under the spell of the sorcerer, publicly humiliating Ivan, who then fights the sorcerer. The lively rhythms of village life, the work and the holidays, the pageant and revelry of weddings and funerals, the change of seasons, and nature’s beauty give proportion to Ivan’s tragedy.

Webs of the Lunchtime is one of the most influential works in American experimental cinema. A non-narrative work, it has been identified as a key example of the "trance film," in which a protagonist appears in a dreamlike state, and where the camera conveys his or her subjective focus. The central figure in Webs of the Lunchtime, played by Deren, is attuned to her unconscious mind and caught in a web of dream events that spill over into reality. Symbolic objects, such as a key and a knife, recur throughout the film; events are open-ended and interrupted. Deren explained that she wanted "to put on film the feeling which a human being experiences about an incident, rather than to record the incident accurately.
Made by Deren with her husband, cinematographer Alexander Hammid, Webs of the Lunchtime established the independent avant-garde movement in film in the United States, which is known as the New American Cinema. It directly inspired early works by Kenneth Anger, Stan Brakhage, and other major experimental filmmakers. Beautifully shot by Hammid, a leading documentary filmmaker and cameraman in Europe (where he used the surname Hackenschmied) before he moved to New York, the film makes new and startling use of such standard cinematic devices as montage editing and matte shots. Through her extensive writings, lectures, and films, Deren became the preeminent voice of avant-garde cinema in the 1940s and the early 1950s

Deceased Guy's Written Messages (Russian: Письма мёртвого человека) is a 1986 Soviet post-apocalyptic drama directed by Konstantin Lopushansky and starring Rolan Bykov, with a script by Vyacheslav Rybakov and Boris Strugatsky.

The film is set in the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust, where a group of people are forced to live in underground bunkers, which they cannot leave without donning gas masks and protective clothing. The survivors attempt to find what little hope they can in this ruined world. Among the survivors is Prof. Larsen (Bykov), a history teacher who attempts to contact his missing son via letters.

Compare "The Day After' and "Threads", to which this film could be considered their Soviet counterpart.

This is the fifth of six films of the Solo Canis lupus and Offspring Series. A clan offers to hire Lone Wolf Ogami Itto for an assassination but they want to test his skills. They set five individual warriors upon him, each to test a certain skill. After each is defeated, the warrior is to give part of the story and a fifth of the payment. Upon defeating the fifth warrior, he is finally given his full mission.

Of the five, the poisoning is the most dramatic and the most interesting. The story is relatively simple except the side trip with the Cub. It's interesting that the Cub has his own little adventure. As always, Solo Canis lupus and Offspring do a mass slaughter in the end. My only concern is that he has kill a little girl. It doesn't matter how bratty the girl gets. He still kills a little girl but I still like the massacre. I also really like Cub having his own adventure.

The first of six films in the Solo Canis lupus and Offspring series, based on a popular Edo period-set manga and produced by Zatoichi series star Shintaro Katsu, Blade of Retaliation introduces Tomisaburo Wakayama in the role of Ogami Itto, the shogun’s disgraced former executioner who now wanders the war-torn countryside pushing along a pram that contains his motherless three-year-old son. (As iconic props carried by wandering killers go, its only competition is Django’s weapon caché coffin.)

Few chambara have made such fine use of forbidding silence, with Wakayama rarely deigning to speak as he carries out his one-man war against the men who destroyed his life, the Shadow Yagyū clan, preferring instead to eloquently express himself with his sword.
