PLOT:
Howard Beale, the longtime anchor of the Union Broadcasting System's UBS Evening News in New York City, learns from friend and news division president Max Schumacher that he has just two more weeks on the air because of declining ratings. The two get drunk and lament the state of their industry. The following night, Beale announces on live television that he will commit suicide on next Tuesday's broadcast. UBS fires him after this incident, but Schumacher intervenes so that Beale can have a dignified farewell. Beale promises he will apologize for his outburst, but once on the air, he launches back into a rant claiming that life is "bullshit."

Welcome to my review of the season finale of Star Trek Picard, episode 10 "Et in Arcadia Ego, Pt 2".

SPOILER ALERT: Picard dies!

This episode is a complete mess full of: virtue signals, plot contrivances, multiple 'homages' to better IPs and of course... did I mention Picard DIES!? It wouldn't have been so bad if he hadn't been replaced by iPicard, the synth version of Picard. Also, Data dies... AGAIN!

The retcons are strong with this one. The writers go back on things already established earlier in the season (e.g., Dahj/Soji's origin). This exposition heavy episode talks a lot, but says very little. We get another layer to both Rios and Soji's backstory. #DiscardPicard

I have no idea what this is, but it is NOT Star Trek. The pluses are: Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan and Frakes' directing. The minuses are: convoluted BS plot. The new characters. The portrayal of The Federation. The (lack of) world building. This was very bad!

EDIT: Apparently Jurati is NOT a synth. I rewatched that scene.

The #DemocraticDebate in Las Vegas saw fireworks between most of the candidates and newcomer, billionaire #MichaelBloomberg. Bloomberg turned out a poor performance as he was attacked for non-disclosure agreements persons under his employ were required to sign after settling discrimination and sexual harassment matters.

BACKGROUND: When #StarTrekDiscovery dropped in September of 2017, many noticed similarities to the indy point & click game "Tardigrades" by independent game creator, Anas Abdin.

Anas attempted to speak to CBS All-Access to discuss the similarities and was unable to come to an accord. After CBS threatened Anas with a lawsuit he decided to assert his rights under the law and bring legal action.

The court ruled against Anas, so with the help of #TheFandomMenace was able to raise the funds to appeal and mount a credible defense.
