Electra is my home-modified, solar-electric, 17-foot Grumman outrigger sailing canoe. Modelled after ancient Hawaiian proas - and the outriggers I encountered in the South and Western Pacific aboard my trimaran, Celerity - Electra carries her single ama (outrigger) to windward OR to leeward, depending on which tack she's on. Together we have cruised open water to distant islands. (I can sleep and cook onboard.) An excellent seaboat, I've surfed her twice when caught out in breaking seas and lighthouse-reported 25-knot winds. Not recommended. But she flew!

My Motorino BTR electric scooter cloaks a Yamaha dirt bike frame and components beneath a sculpted shell. Fleeing downhill at 60k, just think "turn" and you've turned. With a thousand-watt rear hub motor, this machine would rock! But with lightweight lithium batteries replacing a hundred pounds of lead acid deadweight - the Canada-legal 500 watts gets the job done.
