Understanding the I Ching
Sometimes folks wonder about the authenticity of the I Ching, (Yi Jing). Some people believe that the answers are random and therefore do not really address your questions. Others believe divination is demonic and the energy that causes the coins to drop in a certain pattern are of evil intent. However, you just have to step away from fear and try it, then you will see nothing could be further from the truth.
The I Ching is not a religion and can be used by anyone who wants guidance on how to move forward and address situations in their lives. It is an advisor, like any counselor, mentor or Mental Health professional. It guides you on your path of personal development. You do not have to pay tithes for its advice, it is free for anyone who would like to learn how to use it.

From there came the repeating cycles productive, destructive, controlling and dissolving. Of course as with all Ancient Texts, changes, editions and subtractions have been made, especially in translating it from the Ancient Mandarin.
All in all it comes to us, and from much experience it has given me, it shows to be one of the best systems around.
I have been using this system without fail for over 30 years. It has guided me through some trying and joyful times. It has given me a stronger ability to intuit and helped me to relinquish my dependence upon it. Over time, one becomes so in tune, that they can "forecast" the hexagrams that may come up in a reading, providing confirmation for each life situation that it is consulted on.

Constructing I Ching Hexagrams-Lesson 6
Constructing the I Ching Hexagrams is a short presentation describing the manner in which the I Ching coins, shells can be tossed. They can be shaken upped in two hands, or in one hand, it really depends on how you wish to toss them. But make sure they are tossed on a flat surface. If one or two or all of the coins/shells you are using fall off the table to the floor, just read the lines from where they are. No need to toss that line again.
My method is simplistic and I hope that it will prove simple enough for you to use so that you can readily get on with the business of consulting the I Ching Oracle for situations that are occurring in your life. REMEMBER, FIRST QUESTIONS FIRST.

I Ching - the Importance of Consulting About the Details
I approach consulting the I Ching from my unique perspective that I have developed over 30+ years of using it and 20+ years of giving thousands of consultations. To be sure, it is different. My students benefit from this approach and to me, that is the most rewarding. I am also able to couple my knowledge and experience as a Mental Health Professional, combining what I have learned about Mental Health into the readings. I see the I Ching (Yi Jing) as a pocket counselor that offers you guidance in the situations you ask it about. My goal as an educator is to help my students gain access to their Inner Knowing in the most profound way. To me, the best way to do that, is to ask questions that will give them answers that make sense. It's challenging, and we work hard but the reward is immeasurable.
When consulting the I Ching, it is always best to ask a general question. This general questions opens the conversation between you and the I Ching Oracle. But, like any sage, the I Ching will address your question with a parable that may or may not be understood in real time. Therefore, I strongly encourage my students to go a bit further and develop their conversation with the Oracle by asking supportive questions and/or more questions about the details in the situation.
There are no quick fixes with the I Ching. Remember you are communicating with a Sage, that is, the Inner Knowing, the Inner Wisdom, that is within you but you may not be able to reach directly which is why you are using the Oracle.

This part of the video series, Understanding the I Ching, Lesson 5, will have several short parts. In these videos, we will discuss "WHY" a certain hexagram was received. This will help the querrent in understanding what situation is happening in their experience that has cause the I Ching to respond with a particular hexagram. While it is important to know what each reading/hexagram or series of hexagrams mean, I have found that it is extremely important to focus on "WHY" certain hexagrams are received. In looking at "Why" we get an idea of our station/status at a particular time and it helps us to see how we are responding to situations and helps us to see alternatives to these responses.
In some instances, when approaching the oracle in this manner, we are sort of "STOPPED" in our tracks before we ask a series of questions around a particular subject. The I Ching draws attention to where we are in the moment and by doing this when we do receive the answers to our questions that follow, we have a better chance at understanding what they mean and how we should proceed. It may even re-direct our query to the more pertinent issues at hand which are often the influences that are creating our need to seek answers from the I Ching Oracle, or any oracle for that matter. Today what I will do is share a 2018 Yearly Focus Reading for you, my subscribers and anyone who visits my channel to watch this video.
While I typically prefer to do individual readings, it was suggested that I give some idea of what may be expected for the year we call 2018.
I make no claims to be able to Divine a forecast for 7.5 billion people on this planet, and certainly that many people will not be congregating on my channel. The I Ching is an Oracle system that is for personal and character development. There are so many circumstances surrounding the lives of each and every Soul on this planet that to give one reading for all of them would certainly be an arduous task to say the least. Who can do that? And anyone who is making that claim, may not realize that they are merely focusing on what is most near at hand, that is their local community, but certainly not an all inclusive reading that would cover the entire world and its population.
There are individuals who have folks who gather around them, and surely they can focus in an overall way for them. But as far the way the I Ching works, it would be most effective to get individual readings.

For all those folks who think divination is demonic, would you please just move along, as this video is definitely not for you and telling me how I am playing around with demons and satan, back by Biblical verses, will not deter me or make me stop. I have been using the I Ching oracle for a very very long time, and it has not guided me or anyone that I have worked with in the wrong direction. Be kind, turn this video off and go watch something that you do agree with.

A Life Path Reading is essentially one of the most important readings that can be done. It is similar to an astrology reading only I use the I Ching. It helps to determine what challenges, triumphs, skills, talents, and deficits an individual may have.
While some folks deeply believe in re-incarnation, my belief is that we have come here for a specific purpose and not necessarily to work out all that we didn't work out in the past incarnation, that we can barely remember, btw. Let me add here, that there are still various cultural indicators surrounding the birth of a child that can still be seen in practice today.
Many of them have religious rituals and ceremonies attached to them and can be observed in the form of Naming Ceremonies, Christening, Confirmations, and even circumcision as a type of Rites of Passage, or entry of the child into the Physical world. Names are often given to represent a relative, saint (deity) or historical figure.
Again, without getting a Life Path reading then it is possible that the name does not depict the actual path of the child. On the other hand, when a reading is done, it can determine more succinctly the direction the soul is traveling and thus gives the individual a strong guage to measure his/her progress as they mature.

So, it seems we have glided into what is being called, the New Year. Hmm, isn't that interesting that we are in the dead of winter and calling it a New Year. Well it's certainly a new fiscal year for the banks and tax season, however, there ain't much new happening if you live in a temperate climate like here in the US.

Now the I Ching knows we are stuck in the illusionary construct of time, and it is willing to guide us through our own delusions, hoping to get us on track following the Tao of it all.
