Edit for headphones, May 26, 2021. It's a big shame that the singer messed up this song, for wow, what a great set of musicians working here!
Enjoy the real great guitar work! It may be difficult, but try to ignore the vocals on this one... the idiot sounds like he's drunk...
The Fireballs were formed in Raton, New Mexico, in 1957, and got their start as an instrumental group featuring the distinctive lead guitar of George Tomsco.
The song was written and recorded by Tom Paxton. The Fireballs' version reached nr.9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967. It also reached nr.3 in South Africa. The song appeared on their 1967 album, with the "surprising" title "Bottle of Wine". It was for six weeks in Holland's Tip Parade, but alas, it didn't chart there, and that with so awfully many many alcoholists in this country ! ! ! (you might expect they would have loved this drunk asshole singing ;-).
The Fireballs, sometimes billed as Jimmy Gilmer (yes, the asshole who sounds like a drunk) and the Fireballs, were an American rock and roll group, particularly popular at the end of the 1950s and in the early 1960s. The original line-up consisted of George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums) and Dan Trammell (rhythm guitar).
Personnel on "Bottle Of Wine" (the single, not the bottle): Jimmy Gilmer (vocals)(yèch), George Tomsco (lead guitar), Doug Roberts (drums) & Stan Lark (bass).
To cover up the singing I gave you some nice Jugendstil photos, didn't I ?

Edit for headphones, December 2021. A song from the 1968 double album "Electric Ladyland", a vinyl rip.
"Electric Ladyland" is the third and final studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the final studio album released in Hendrix's lifetime before his death in 1970. It was the only album from the band produced by Hendrix. By mid-November, it had charted at number one in the US, where it spent two weeks at the top spot. "Electric Ladyland" was the Experience's most commercially successful release and their only number one album.
"All Along The Watchtower" was their best-selling single, charting 5 in the UK, 10 in Holland and 20 in the USA.
"Electric Ladyland" confounded critics in 1968, it has since been viewed as Hendrix's best work and one of the greatest rock records of all time.
Jimi Hendrix also played bass on this song. Traffic guitarist Dave Mason plays rhythm on a 12-string acoustic guitar. Mitch Mitchell is on drums.
Someone in Amsterdam wrote: The lyrics of "all along the watchtower" are about the near-death experience Bob Dylan had after his motorcycle accident. In his coma he experiences and visuals an awareness but he feels this his not his time and he wants to escape the afterlife back to reality...
ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER
(Bob Dylan)
there must be some kind of way outta here
said the joker to the thief
there's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
business men, they drink my wine
plowmen dig my earth
none will level on the line
nobody offered his word
hey, hey
no reason to get excited
the thief he kindly spoke
there are many here among us
who feel that life is but a joke
but uh, but you and I we've been through that
and this is not our fate
so let us stop talking falsely now
the hour's getting late, hey
hey
all along the watchtower
princes kept the view
while all the women came and went
barefoot servants too
well uh, outside in the cold distance
a wildcat did growl
two riders were approaching
and the wind began to howl, hey
all along the watchtower
all along the watchtower

Edit for headphones, December 2021. Source odf the edit is song number four on the 1992 remastered album "The Ultimate Experience" special edition HDCD, Polydor 517 235-2.
The song was inspired by Jimi Hendrix's girlfriend at the time, Kathy Mary Etchingham. He'd gotten into an argument with her about her cooking (lumpy mashed potato). She got very angry and started throwing pots and pans and finally stormed out to stay at a friend's home for a day or so. When she came back, Jimi had written "The Wind Cries Mary" for her.
AT one point the band had 20 minutes to spare in a recording studio, when Jimi showed "The Wind Cries Mary" to the band. They managed to record it in the 20 minute period they had. Later they recorded several more takes of the song, but in the end they decided to go with the original recording.
THE WIND CRIES MARY
(Jimi Hendrix)
after all the jacks are in the boxes
and the clowns have all gone to bed
you can hear happiness staggering on down the street
footprints dressed in red
and the wind whispers Mary
a broom is drearily sweeping
up the broken pieces of yesterday's life
somewhere a queen is weeping
somewhere a king has no wife
and the wind it cries Mary
the traffic lights they turn up blue tomorrow
and shine their emptiness down on my bed
the tiny island sags downstream
'cause the life that lived is, is dead
and the wind screams Mary
will the wind ever remember
the names it has blown in the past
and with this crutch its old age and its wisdom
it whispers no, this will be the last
and the wind cries Mary

Second edit for headphones. Mmm... 'lllove it, sounds real nice, just the way I like it!
It has a Lennon spoken intro, a much clearer bass, drums left & right, base drums heavier, heavier guitar sound, guitar sound on both channels, second guitar (there are two seperated guitar tracks in the basic file) is more on the left channel. I really dig this song, much better than the sluggish slow motion version on the White Album...

Not an edit, this comes straight from the 2006 limited edition ten cd box set "In The Studio", it is song number seven on cd ten, entitled "Wind Cries Mary". So much more can be heard when you listen to an instrumental version... sometimes you would even wish the singer had shut up, because what is going on instrumentally is so real great...
The box set's label is "Reclamation", the catalogue number of cd 10 is recd1010cw; the box set is partially unofficial and limited to 1000 copies, yeah, limited & a digital world, two opposite things...

edit for headphones. a january 1970 album release, released as a single in march 1970. a genuine canadian and american #1 hit by a canadian band.
a song about a band that preferred canadian girls over american; jim kale (bass) and co-author of the song said that after a tour in america it was just a real treat to go home and see the girls they had grown up with. another example of the devastating effect touring has on band members.
a #5 hit in holland.
AMERICAN WOMAN
(Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings, Gary Peterson, Michael Kale)
American woman, I'm gonna mess your mind
American woman, you gonna mess your mind
American woman, I'm gonna mess your mind
American woman, I'm gonna mess your mind
Say A, say M, say E
Say R, say I, C
Say A, N
American woman, I'm gonna mess your mind
American woman, you gonna mess your mind
American woman, I'm gonna mess your mind
American woman, stay away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come a hangin' around my door
I don't want to see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you
Now woman, I said stay away
American woman, listen what I say
American woman, get away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come a knockin' around my door
Don't want to see your shadow no more
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, I said get away
American woman, listen what I say-ay-ay-ay
American woman, said get away
American woman, listen what I say
Don't come a hangin' around my door
Don't want to see your face no more
I don't need your war machines
I don't need your ghetto scenes
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, get away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Go, gotta get away, gotta get away now go, go, go
I'm gonna leave you woman
Gonna leave you woman
Bye-bye bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye
You're no good for me
I'm no good for you
Gonna look you right in the eye
Tell you what I'm gonna do
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go-o, woman
I'm gonna leave you woman
Goodbye American woman

Not an edit. Gabriele Susanne Kerner (born 24 March 1960), better known as Nena, is a German singer-songwriter, actress, and comedian who rose to international fame in 1983 as the eponymous lead vocalist of the band Nena with the Neue Deutsche Welle song "99 Luftballons". In the same year the band re-recorded this song in English as "99 Red Balloons". Nena's re-recording of some of the band's old hit songs as a solo artist, produced by the co-composer of most of them, her former Nena band colleague and keyboard player Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen, rekindled her solo career in 2002. Combined with the success of the Nena band years, she has sold over 25 million records, making her one of Germany's most successful music artists.

Edit 3 for headphones, May 2021. New video. Recorded: July 7 - 22, 1967. Released December 1967. Mellotron, theremin, flute, trumpet & other brass: Brian Jones. Percussion: Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Paul McCartney. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Background vocals: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, John Lennon, Paul McCartney. Guitar: Keith Richards. Bass: Bill Wyman. Drums: Charlie Watts. Piano: Nicky Hopkins. Source of this edit: the song on the 2002 DSD remaster of the album.
The album title is a play on "Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires..." inside a British passport.
In all my albums this song has three noticable tics: at 00.02,4 at 00.03,4 and at 00.05.
This edit is without Mick Jagger's "Where's that joint" in the first seconds. For many years this song was banned from my channels, probably because of those words. Sir Jagger can go to sleep peacefully now...
The recording was long and sporadic, broken up by court appearances and jail terms. The entire band was seldom present in the studio at one time. Further slowing productivity was the presence of the multiple guests that the band members had brought along. One of the more level-headed members during this time, Bill Wyman, wary of psychedelic drugs, wrote "In Another Land" to parody the Stones' current goings-on. In an interview he described the situations in the studio: "Every day it was a lottery as to who would turn up and what – if any – positive contribution they would make when they did. Keith would arrive with anything up to ten people, Brian with another half-a-dozen and it was the same for Mick. They were assorted girlfriends and friends. I hated it! Then again, so did Andrew (Oldham) and just gave up on it. There were times when I wish I could have done, too."
Producer Andrew Oldham, fed up with the band's lack of focus, distanced himself from them following their drug bust and finally quit. So it was their only self-produced album; Mick Jagger admitted was not for the best: "There's a lot of rubbish on Satanic Majesties. Just too much time on our hands, too many drugs, no producer to tell us, "Enough already, thank you very much, now can we get just get on with this song?" Anyone let loose in the studio will produce stuff like that. There was simply too much hanging around. It's like believing everything you do is great and not having any editing."
According to Brian Jones, a month before the album's planned release date the group "hadn't got anything put together": "It's really like sort of got-together chaos. Because we all panicked a little, even as soon as a month before the release date that we had planned, we really hadn't got anything put together. We had all these great things that we'd done, but we couldn't possibly put it out as an album. And so we just got them together, and did a little bit of editing here and there."
Keith Richards himself has been c

Edit 2a for headphones. Otis Redding and his beautiful version of "That's how strong my love is". Edit, with more bass. Enjoy! No sounds were added, it's Otis' bassman (Donald Dunn)... Dubbed video. (Sorry for not being able to get my hands on Otis performing this song and for using a different song's video. Sorry again.)
""That's How Strong My Love Is" was a hit debut song by deep soul singer O.V. Wright in 1964. The single was a hit on the American R&B chart. The song was written by Wright's manager and publicist at the time, Roosevelt Jamison, who came from a gospel music background" (Wikipedia). The text most clearly refers to the Greatness and Omnipotence of the Almighty JAHWEH and his Son Yeshua HaMashiach.
"The song is a soulful love ballad and has been covered many times since, most notably by Otis Redding in 1965 and appears on his album The Great Otis Redding Sings Soul Ballads. Three other version of the song were recorded in 1965, one by The Rolling Stones on their album "Out Of Our Heads", a second by The In Crowd, released as a single and the third by The Hollies on their self-titled album "The Hollies"" (Wikipedia).
THAT'S HOW STRONG MY LOVE IS
(Roosevelt Jamison)
If I was the sun way up there
I'd go with love most everywhere
I'll be the moon when the sun goes down
Just to let you know that I'm still around
That's how strong my love is, oh
That's how strong my love is,
That's how strong my love is, baby, baby,
That's how strong my love is.
I'll be the weeping willow drowning in my tears
You can go swimming when you're here
I'll be the rainbow when the sun is gone
Wrap you in my colors and keep you warm
That's how strong my love is, darling,
That's how strong my love is, baby,
That's how strong my love is, oooh,
That's how strong my love is.
I'll be the ocean so deep and wide
I'll get out the tears whenever you cry,
I'll be the breeze after the storm is gone
To dry your eyes and love you warm
That's how strong my love is, baby,
That's how strong my love is,
That's how strong my love is, darling,
That's how strong my love is,
That's how strong my love is, so deep in,
Well, that's how strong my love is
So much love, yes so much love, oohh,
Yes so much love, yes so much love,
Anything that I can do, I'll be good for you,
Any kind of love you want, I'll be with you....

Edit for headphones. Source file for this edit was the version from the bootleg Beatles' album "1" (2009 non-remastered real audiophile version).
Though some think this bootleg album is not for real, claiming the songs don't sound differently from the 2009 remasters, I definitely hear the bass sounds way differently. I therefore didn't change the bass sound in this edit. This song in particular suffers from a typical sixties habit: drums and guitars on one channel only. I changed that.
"1" is a compilation album by the Beatles, originally released on 13 November 2000. The album features virtually every number-one single the band achieved in the United Kingdom and United States from 1962 to 1970. Issued on the 30th anniversary of the band's break-up, it was their first compilation available on only one CD. "1" was a commercial success and topped the charts worldwide. It has sold over 31 million copies.
This is what the maker of this bootleg wrote:
«« After a rumour with realness of 2009 version of "The Beatles - 1" album released few days ago, I decided to create real non-remastered version for audiophile purists and Beatles hardcore fans.
Here it is, pure mastertape transfers, tapeheaddrops, tube-cut audiophile heaven, NO EQUALIZER, NO BRICKWALL, NO COMPRESSION, NO NOISE REDUCTION, NO BASS, NO TREBLE, NO BALLS,...
just STEVE HOFFMAN remastering style with noise, mid-range and other artifacts made by tape and mastering for LP pressing.
I'm not kidding, this is the definitive version of the " 1" album, better than original EMI release !!!
And here are some reactions after testplay:
Marc Mould (NoiseMag):
I've cried all over the time, this reminds me my childhood, when I was playing my popular 45s on grandma's Victrola. Perfect!
Simon Stamper (Mono&Mics):
This is the first time I heard Beatles as they were mastered back in the 1960's. And I know the answer, why I love them: it was the EMITAPE noise, which made their music popular!
Huff Stevens (Tapeloops Weekend): Dolby system and compact discs killed classic music from 1950's and 1960's. This non-remastered album brings the Beatles music back alive!
Edit for headphones. Bass clearer audible, as well as drums (yes, there are drums here and there). Sitar widely spread, as well as lead singing. Video art by paullonden http://www.youtube.com/user/PAULLONDEN
See his art at http://paullonden.deviantart.com/gallery/
This was the first Pop song to use a sitar - George Harrison played it. Harrison was new to the sitar and took many takes to get it right. He bought the instrument, which he described as "crummy," and taught himself to play. It was David Crosby of The Byrds who introduced Harrison to the sitar shortly after the folk musician Shawn Phillips had shown him the basic steps. A few months later Harrison studied the sitar with Indian musician Ravi Shankar, who helped Harrison explore Eastern music and religion.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in 1971, John Lennon explained why it was decided to use the sitar on this song. He recalled: "I think it was at the studio. George had just got the sitar and I said 'Could you play this piece?' We went through many different sort of versions of the song, it was never right and I was getting very angry about it, it wasn't coming out like I said. They said, 'Well just do it how you want to do it' and I said, 'Well I just want to do it like this.' They let me go and I did the guitar very loudly into the mike and sang it at the same time and then George had the sitar and I asked him could he play the piece that I'd written, you know, dee diddley dee diddley dee, that bit, and he was not sure whether he could play it yet, because he hadn't done much on the sitar, but he was willing to have a go, as is his wont, and he learned the bit and dubbed it on after. I think we did it in sections."
Norwegian Wood is a fake wood that was used to make cheap furniture. John Lennon Lennon claimed he had no idea where the title came from, but Paul McCartney said he came up with it, inspired by the Norwegian Wood in the Asher household, where he was staying. McCartney was dating Jane Asher, and was good friends with her brother, Peter Asher from the duo Peter & Gordon.
The Beatles recorded this on October 12, 1965, the first day of the "Rubber Soul" sessions. The first take of the song, which is included on the Anthology 2 CD and includes George's sitar much more prominently, was originally going to be put on "Rubber Soul" until a remake was made a week or two later. The notes in the Anthology 2 album verify this.
It was Paul McCartney who came up with the album title "Rubber Soul". Lennon told Rolling Stone that he supposed it was a pun meaning English Soul. He added: "There is no great mysterious meaning behind all of this, it was just four boys working out what to call a new album."
