Assuming there's more to this story than just the political angle, there are so many cuts and surgical budgetary moves you can make before shutting down a service as essential as your fire department. What a bunch of jokers.

Almost as bad as mainstream media sources like NBC, who bafflingly still cite the Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource when constructing their articles. If they can't even do their proper research, what are they paying them for?
