Something strange is happening with reality

A number of people have stated, that post 2012, they feel like there is something strange about our reality. In fact, a number of people are saying something happened i.e.: today it seems that everything is in an element of chaos, from politics to many other areas. We have also seen the massive rise in reality rejecting groups, including the Flat Earth Movement and the Mandela effect. Could we be seeing something akin, to a wisdom of the crowds projection - where now the group mind if rejecting reality for some unknown reason?
