Today, July 26, 2018 President Trump and Vice President Pence demanded the release of Pastor Andrew Brunson from Turkey, asserting that he is innocent, but not denying his involvement in the 2016 coup against the Turkish President Erdogan. The Turkish Government indicted him for supporting the Gulen Movement and 2016 coup as a CIA agent, but reports are conflicting. In either case, it is reckless for President Trump to threaten foreign leaders over potentially justified arrests.
