The problem a lot of people have in marketing is impatience. We want to hear yes quickly, and instead we hear the word NO repeatedly. Then we hang our heads thinking we are failures.
In fact, hearing the word NO several times a day is just par for the course. It takes many repetitions of an offer before most people are willing to take action on it. The solution is in consistently putting your offer out there in front of people until the right people are ready to act.
A nice book on this is Go For NO For Network Marketing by Richard Fenton, Andrea Waltz, and Ray Higdon. I find it a useful tool in cultivating the right attitude in marketing of any kind.
