Are We Limiting Universe's Plan For Us

Are we telling universe how this should happen? Are we trying to manifest something but we keep saying that thing will likely happen this way? Limiting ourselves comes in a few forms, but has the same end result. Slowing us down or even blocking us from what we think we desire.
