Indy's most questionable tool is his bull whip.
Can it minor-wound foes TEMPORARILY keeping them at a stand-off?
YES. Watch Catwoman Michelle Pfeiffer do it for real in "Batman Returns":

Can you fling the whip's end onto a distant object fixing to it to swing like a Tarzan vine or climb up it?
NO.
We need Myth Busters to do something worthwhile instead of being status quo establishment pussies (refusing to see if jet fuel can implode buildings ala the Rockefeller Illuminati 9/11 lie?) and do an Indy Jones whip climb and defacto vine swing to prove its feasible--or BUSTED! NOT.
However, keeping attackers outside one's 3 meter bubble within the 21 foot, Personal Defense Zone IS a vital capability--but why just temporarily nip foes when instead you can sever their arteries and muscles ending them as a threat as the "Stinger" sharp whip does?

Carrying the Stinger IS a problem...It's makers are at fault for not offering a belt pouch for it based on coiling it once or twice for compactness....hmmmm
Their rival, "Fast Strike" suggests clipping to the pants top and running the 13 to 17" whip inside your pants.....hmmmm

Is this tolerable for EDC?
Certainly, the main pouch of a FANNY PACK should hold the Stinger or Fast Strike whip.
