Abduction was known for the longest time to be Eat Static's 1st album as the initial hype over their unmistakable banging style grew. (officially the 2nd album but "Prepare Your Spirit" was really more of a random combo of records, available on tape for a limited time at VERY SAVVY record shops).
It's easy to see why though.
Abduction feels like a much more refined & wholesome musical journey, beginning, middle & end, by a band that found their sound.
Confidently delivered, signature E.S weird "WTF?" FX, cool , funny & bizarre vocal/noise samples. Amazingly deep, analogue soundscapes, funky, catchy, expertly crafted synth riffs, rhythms, basslines, sequences & layering. Electronica so ahead of time, many ravers only discovered their music years later. Although '93 was a year underground tunes got more innovative, trancey
... E.S's sound has the blueprints for Acid Techno, Psychedelic trance, trip hop, breakbeat & Detroit techno without setting any boundaries. Superb.
