Many London A&R men came to see us, but never signed us. Factory wanted to sign us, but I only found out in 2004 when Phil Sachs drove me home from a Man Utd match that I had been invited to by Caroline Elleray, my publisher.
Phil told me that whoever was managing Hulio at the time, asked Factory for too much money.
Hulio Ridiculo rehearsed 5 days a week for 5 years down the cellar of the house where bass player Adam Speakman lived. This was my music apprenticeship. This song is a tribute to chief songwriter in Hulio Rod Smith, my childhood friend who taught me how to play the guitar. It is also a tribute to the musicianship of the whole band.
Written by Rod Smith.
Music performed by Hulio Ridiculo live at Band on The Wall, Manchester 1992.
