Everyone should watch this! The way the Family Court is designed to operate is absolutely disgusting. You will never receive justice from a family court, because that is not what they are designed to do. They are a for-profit entity. Family Courts will demand child support in every case only because they receive an equal amount from the Federal government. You cannot opt out, even if both parents agree. The court has an incentive to make that child support as high as possible because the money they receive from the Federal government matches whatever the child support payments are. It’s all one big scam.
The lawyers who get involved in this business are equally degenerates. Attorneys for both parties will serve one another countless repetitions of paperwork, file motion after motion, refuse to consolidate cases (which would save you both money), push to take it to trial, and all of this unnecessary fighting simply because it increases their billable hours. If your family law attorney spends more than 3 months on your divorce, it's because they are greedy and want to hose you both for as much as they can squeeze out of you.
Ladies, if you like your ex’s family, expect to lose them completely should you lawyer up. Especially if your attorney convinces you to file a bad-faith TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) like most douchebag attorneys push shitty women to do at the onset of a divorce as a sucker punch to use it against their ex in custody proceedings. If you do that, expect to be ostracized for the remainder of your life. You deserve it.
No matter who wins or loses, family law attorneys make money. They have zero incentive to work hard on your case and many do the bare minimum, yet keep the meter running as much as possible. They will create conflict where there is none, because they won’t have to deal with the fallout, you will. They’ll be onto the next client and you’ll be forgotten and in debt. In other types of civil law, such as personal injury, where the attorney only gets paid if they win your case, forcing them to work for the best outcome of their client, a family law attorney has no incentive to win, and if you are a woman, they already know the odds are stacked in your favor and you’ll be lucky if they go over your paperwork an hour before your hearing, yet they’ll bill you for the entire week. Don’t be a sucker.
Your best bet is to ditch the idea of hiring an attorney and go to a private separation mediator who will get the divorce finalized in a month or less by simply looking over your financial information. Their fees are typically between $2k and $8k. A small fraction both of you will pay if you lawyer up, and once one party lawyers up, it makes it necessary for the other party to follow suit. This is a trap. A trap women are typically coached into by emotionally manipulative attorneys and the predatory law firms they work for. Going to court to fight over child support or your ex’s retirement/bank account will likely assure you pay vastly more money than you will ever receive in return, especially if they file bankruptcy later (which is a good idea if family courts impose grossly inflated awards. A 5 year credit hit is a good trade off if it takes 5+ years to pay off your ex. Why not keep most of that money for your new life and child?)
The family court system should be abolished and those involved punished severely (judges and attorneys), forced to pay lifelong reparations for all the lives they've destroyed and damaged out of pure greed and lack of morality. Their homes, cars, bank accounts, etc. should be liquidated and given to the families they helped destroy.
The court system has demonstrated time and again they are systematically corrupt in every avenue of the law. Judges are chosen not because they are just, but because they will perpetuate the system and keep the machine chugging along.
