Ivermectin was first made for humans. It is no different than what is given to livestock; the only difference being the dosage amount. You don't want to take the same dosage as you would give to a 1,200 pound horse to a 200 pound human. What won't hurt a horse could kill 6 humans if you took the same amount.
The plunger on a tube of ivermectin has markings for dosage by pound. it has an adjustable ring you move to the weight of the animal (or human) being treated and push the plunger until the lock ring stops it.
