Piano Quintet No. 1 in D minor, Op. 89 by Gabriel Fauré

While evidence suggests Fauré began this work in 1887, it would not be completed until 1905. The public premiere of this quintet was given in March of 1906 in Brussels with Fauré on the piano. The work is dedicated to Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, a close friend of Fauré.

This quintet is comprised of three movements:
I. Molto moderato
II. Adagio
III. Allegretto moderato
