Unsafe basement stairs get repaired.

The basement stairs were grossly unsafe and in desperate need of repair. This video covers those repairs and the challenges presented.
The international building codes stipulate new stairs should have a 7":11" rise over run; however, we could not replace these stairs with that ratio and ended up keeping the ratio 8":9". Several structural elements prevented extending the stairs to meet current code. Since the house is so old and we were repairing (not replacing), we were able to keep the stairs the same ratio.
