Episode 8: Raised Garden Bed Part 2: Assembly | Back to Eden Gardening | South Florida

Centered on Back to Eden Gardening in South Florida with Wood-chips, and a layering method
In this video I cover my progress while constructing an Interlocking Raised Bed.
✔️ No tools needed except for a Level / Mallet along with corner stones, link below, and 2 x 4’s.
My Raised bed was made with the following materials for a total height of a 2ft high Raised Bed:
If you are making 1/5 ft raised bed then you will only need four pieces of everything listed below:

Materials Used:
✔️ 16 pieces of 2” x 4ft
✔️16 Interlocking Stones/ Use rebar to poke hole open on the bottom of the interlocking stone.
✔️ 4 Pieces of Rebar, one is 36” and the other 3 were 2ft. I am planning on making the bed higher that is why I tried the 36’ Rebar.
✔️ Cardboard for the bottom layer.
✔️ My mistake was NOT TAKING OUT ALL GRASS! If you do not want grass growing in your bed no matter the height then I would suggest taking out ALL of the grass.
✔️ Branches, whole or chopped up.
✔️ Bag of Sphagnum Peat Moss for aeration.
✔️ 2 Bags of Compost/Cow Manure – You can use whatever your store has or if you live on a farm use from your Chicken Coup.
✔️ One bag goes on top of branches / Logs if you have them.
✔️ Real Wood-Chips with some Topsoil.
✔️ Level / Mallet (not necessary)
✔️ Constructing the box is as easy as laying down a corner stone and then inserting a 2 x 4 into each side.
✔️. Linseed Oil to Naturally Seal the Wood. Can be applied after the box is built or can be done before you put the wood on the ground.
✔️ Seeds to Plant. Layer all above materials inside the Raised Bed after your bed has been constructed.
