Tatiana Nikolayeva, from Cold-war Russia, is known primarily for her direct work which Shostakovich where he actually presented his 24 Preludes & Fugues for her to record for him. Here she is doing an elegant take the fist of JS Bach's "Twelve Little Preludes." Not only were the Shostakovich Preudes & Fugues inspired by Bach's original set of 24 Preludes & Fugues, but Tatiana was actually the teacher of German Andres Schiff, who would later become on of the go-to interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach.
